So this is how it goes.
I'm 14, I wake up at 6, try to sleep at 9, but I'm just lying there for 2 or 3 or even 5 hours.
I've been like that for the last 2 months.
Nope, benadryl doesn't work.
No, I don't drink coffee.

Stress? Probably no. I got straight As in my 9th grade (yes, I'm in high school)
But yeah, my mind is racing. A lot of thoughts. Then I want to think about it then I can't sleep.

OK, try warm milk. Try stretching, and then after you do that, there is pressure points on your foot that can work. It is the back side of the heal of your foot. Press that for a while, stretch and then jump into bed and clear your mind of all things.

At 14 I doubt if you have much stress to overwhelm you and keep you up, so maybe you should take a look at your diet. Some people have extreme reactions to caffeine, which is found in much more than coffee. Soda, tea, chocolate.
Also too much sugar can cause insomnia. I don't know who in the world told you to take benadryl as a sleeping aid, but it was really bad advice, meant for an antihistamine, to much could damage your heart muscle, among other things.
Are you trying to sleep in a dark quiet room, no TV, radio, computer screen light? If so, eliminate that. Maybe read a book when you go to bed, so you will be consentrating on just that, when I do that, I read until my mind begins to stray from what I am reading and sleep comes almost immediately.
Try all the normal stuff too, good pillows, neat...fresh bed, maybe even a hot bath.
All else fails, have your parents take you to the doc.

See a doctor.
If you're 14 (really) then chances are your hormones are doing a loop and half. That doesn't mean anything is wrong with you, it just means that something may not be right...and it's best to talk to you doc just in case.
Also, are you going through stress? I assume that at your age, you're probably beginning high school next year? That can be stressful too. Maybe you can try talking to a big brother, or your parents about what is going on.

Melatonin is a hormone produced naturally in the pineal gland at the base of the brain. It is important in regulating sleep, and may play a role in maintaining circadian rhythm, the body’s natural time clock. The hypothalamus keeps track of the amount of sunlight that is taken in by the eye. The less sunlight, the more melatonin that is released by the pineal gland, thereby enhancing and regulating sleep. Melatonin can also be taken in an over-the-counter supplement mainly sold in health food stores and pharmacies.

It may be caused by stress. I know that was the problem when I couldn't sleep,or you may have some type of medical condition too. But it is most likely nothing like that. I would try eating good and lowering my stress levels first before doing anything like calling a doctor. It also may just be a phase.

I think get tired is the best answer: play sports real hard dude, then go to bed.
You know, for one possible reason may be that you try to sleep too much.
For example, you go to bed, and then you focus like "à¹hey, I must sleep, I must sleep" and that will make you unsleepable.
Sometimes, I do counting the numbers.
When you count just don't count normally, illustrate the numbers in strange ways. For example, fire, stone, water, blue line or even animation. What I always do is like illustrate fire moves in the shape of a number.
Hope it'll help. :)

I assume you are saying you get up at six am and go to bed at nine pm.
It could be that your body just doesn't need as much as sleep as that. Try going to bed at ten and reading a book for an hour. See if that makes a difference.
My son is a 10pm bed time person that wakes up at 5 am every morning. It has nothing to do with insomnia, its just thats all his body needs right now.

Is this what u call insomnia? It's kind of a sickness I suppose. I was like you, only a little better, last year too but I somehow managed to get back to my normal sleeping time. Perhaps you can consult ur family doctor and ask for sleeping pills or something? Hmm...

Drink something warm before you go to bed, Don't go to bed until you are absolutely sure you ready to sleep (I.E dozing off) Because you body will soon start to relalte lying in bed with staying awake.
Excercise more to create a routine and keep to it...
And if all else fails..."Self-loving" is a cert way to promote drowsiness.
