About how long after you started taking birth control (any kind, pills, the patch, the shot...) did you notice weight gain? I've only been taking Loestrin24 Fe for about 2 weeks now and I'm gaining weight. I don't know if it's because of my lack of exercise (lol) or the pills.

I live in an area with lots of creeks, bogs and marshes, so every summer there are a bunch of vicious mosquitos around here. Because I am allergic to insect bites, wherever I get a mosquito bite, it swells like crazy and blows up to a huge size.
So this summer, I am determined to try to avoid mosquito bites altogether. Can you please recommend to me a really effective mosquito repellent that won't kill me in the process? I'd like to use a product that is least toxic to humans while simultaneous being very effective.
And any other general anti-mosquito tips would be appreciated as well. I hate mosquitos! They are the bane of my existence in the summer.

I am going to a Hot Tub party. I have been working out for a while. I am now lean with a small six pack-however it is not always visible because it is small. Does anyone have advice on a weight-lift workout or any workout that would buff me up for a little bit? It needs to get done within the next few hours.

I have been down for a long time (years now) It all started when I was involved in an accident and injured my spine. This puts me in almost constant pain,which I take meds for. It also caused me to lose my job (I loved) for 14 years.Now I am now somewhat disabled and do what I can to make ends meet,with ebay and things like that. I have so much more to offer this world and cant stand myself anymore for not having the courage to make a change for myself. I am on welbutrin and it does`nt do a thing for me.I have ot take ambein to sleep as my mind never stops,all I do is think or what I could be and why i`m not. I wish there was something or someone who could help me. If someone out there feels like emailing me maybe we could help eachother ?

Hello,

I am a 28 year old Latin female (South American decent, mix of German and Swiss). My WBC count was low 2 years ago (I don't remember the count). I didn't have my blood count tested again until last month. The new doctor said my WBC is very low (1.5). I tested negative for HIV last year....My platelets appear to be in an acceptable range, it's my white blood cells that are all out of range. Details below:

Neutrophils = 650L
Lymphocytes = 707L
Monocytes = 114L
Eostinophils = 53
Basophils = 9

Total WBC = 1.5

I feel healthy overall. When I get sick, I recover quickly. My internet searches turn up a lot of bad news so I thought I would ask the group before I go to see the hematologist....

I was diagnosed with IBS years ago and also Fibromyalgia, I'm beginning to think that may be wrong. My granddaughter has had chronic diahhrea for 6 mos now and doctor just says don't worry.

Is it bad to get sore knees after running?
I ran 3.5 miles yesterday and my knees are sore that it hurts to walk up or down stairs. Does anyone know why and would this problem call for knee surgery in the future?

I'm in good shape, but my knees just took a toll.
