It also caused me to lose my job (I loved) for 14 years. Now I am now somewhat disabled and do what I can to make ends meet, with ebay and things like that. I have so much more to offer this world and cant stand myself anymore for not having the courage to make a change for myself. I am on welbutrin and it does`nt do a thing for me.I have ot take ambein to sleep as my mind never stops, all I do is think or what I could be and why i`m not. I wish there was something or someone who could help me. If someone out there feels like emailing me maybe we could help eachother ?

I would be more than happy to talk with you. However, I think you should perhaps change your medication. I've been on Xanax and Zoloft for many years, and it changed my life. I totally understand how you are feeling, and also think you might have suffered from post traumatic stress disorder as a result of the accident. Let me know if you'd like to talk. There are ways to get out of this downward spiral! Courage! :)

I can kindof understand where you are coming from....I too was in a bad accident and it really physically tore me up. I have phsically came a long way (after lots of surgeries), but my body does not and will not ever operate as good as it used to. I still have a lot of pain, and I also had a head injury which makes eveyday memory and head functioning more challenging. It's hard not to wonder, why me? Why was I on the road at that exact time? But then I realized it was all for a reason. It may be a while before I know why, or I may never know why, but I have begun to see the blessings (yes blessings) that have come of it all. For example, my marriage is now stronger and happier then it ever was or I ever thought it could be. We don't take each other for granted now and realized every time we walk out the door could be the last. There was so much in life I used to take for granted. I no longer take those things for granted, including life itself. I am SO thankful I am still alive after all of that. It sucks what happened to me, but I know it could have been much worse, I could have lost a limb, been paralyzed, or even killed. But thankfully, I wasn't and I have just learned to make modificiations and adapt to my new body and mind.

Depression can be a long journey that we need to slowly repair. Sometimes it goes as quick as it came, but more often than not, it is a slow process that we need to take baby steps to overcome.

1. What is the first conscious thought that comes into your head when you wake up? Since you're depressed, I'm guessing its a challenging thought ... First Baby-Step ... create a POSITIVE thought to give yourself when you get up ... something like, "Today's going to be a good day" ... "I will do great stuff today" ... "I am blessed to have this day" ... notice there isn't any negative in this ... make a sign and read this as your first words each mourning ... This is 'WILLING' your mind to start to think positive!

2. How much sunlight do you get? Sunlight is a great natural medication to chase away depression. Just don't over-do it ... Try getting a constant 20-30 minutes of sun a day.

3. Meditation ... you need quite time to focus you thoughts on a goal/thought/idea. Most people have noise going on 24/7: Television, radio, music, phone, computer, books, ect-ect-ect ... Unplug, and sit in silence 20-30 minutes twice a day (if weather permits, do this once outside in the sun). When you’re in this meditation, try to silence you mind. If your mind won't stop like you wrote, then get POSITIVE sayings and just say them over and over and over for the 20-30 minutes.

Hope these 3 baby-steps help a little.
God bless.

Is the Ambien making you fall asleep immediately? Because if it isn't, it can lead to further mental problems.
If the Wellbutrin isn't working, a stronger antidepressant should be prescribed.
A good antidepressant will help your pain as well.
You need someone who is not just going to e-mail you.
You need a person to physically get you out of your house and into the sunshine of the outside world so you don't dwell so much on your problems.
Try not to associate with people who have depression. You will just feed off of each other and neither will benefit.
You need a person with a strong personality to help you.
Feel free to e-mail me...I can give a little advice.

I have been suffering from heart disease for a few years now. I even lost my job because of poor health. Needless to say I got depressed bad. I tried welbutrin and it didn't help at all.
My doctor prescribed prozac. Thank God my mind is clear again.
Be careful and try to defeat that depression before it starts to bring you comfort. There will come a time when you will find strength in misery. Strange but true.

See site below on "natural healing" to see how someone got over depression with change in lifestyle. So here is site on helping your spine. Then see the 2nd site. I broke a vertebrae into 2 pieces. NUCCA helped me, but not other chiropractic.

Fasting helped with my spine also and 2nd site has a page on that with quotes from 8 MDs about fasting so see that page also. Actually I mistated something. Edited it. Guy on 2nd site was on many medications when he got over his depression but he did not have spine problem from an accident which is a whole seperate thing.

Have you ever wondered about the reason of our existence? Have you ever wondered why we die, and where we go after death? What will happen to us in the end? Have you ever asked yourself why God made the earth and all that is in it under man’s dominion? Why were the night and the day, and the sun and the moon created? What are we supposed to do during our lifetime? Were we created just to eat, drink, and enjoy ourselves before we die? As one poet put it:
“I do not know whence I have come.
I saw my feet walking on the road.
As they please I go and stop.
What am I doing here?
How did the road find me?
I do not know! I do not know! I do not know! ”

God has emphasized in many verses of the Qur’an that He did not create us without purpose. He said: “What! Do you think that I created you simply in jest? And that you would not be returned to Me?” (23:115) He also said: “What! Does man think that he will be left to roam at his will?” (75:36) In addition, He said: “Do people think that they will be left to say: “We believe,” and they will not be held accountable?” (29:2)
Indeed, God Has created human beings for a purpose and with a purpose: TO WORSHIP HIM ALONE (Monotheism). He said: “I have not created the Jinn and humankind except only to worship Me. I don't require provision or feeding from them. Surely Allah is the All-provider, the Possessor of all strength, the Firm.” (51:56-58) In fact, all prophets told their people to worship God alone (Monotheism) and shun worshipping His creation (Paganism). God said: “I assuredly sent among every people a messenger with the command: Worship Allah and avoid worshipping false gods.” (16:36)
Prophet Abraham, for example, believed in One God, who had no partner. Anyone who holds a different understanding of God than this has contradicted the religion of Abraham and follows falsehood. God says in the Qur’an: “Those who reject the religion of Abraham make fools of themselves.” (2:130)
Prophet Jesus was reported in the Gospels to have said: “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only’.” (Luke 4:8)
Prophet Jacob also said (in the Qur'an) to his people: “Indeed, those which you worship besides Allah are only names that you and your forefathers have established, for which Allah has sent down no authority. The command belongs only to Allah. He has commanded that you worship none but Him. That is the right religion, but most people do not understand.” (12:40)

Real happiness and peace can be ONLY found in submitting to the commands of the Creator and the Sustainer of this world. God has said in the Qur’an: (Truly, in remembering God do hearts find rest.)
(Qur’an, 13:28)

On the other hand, the one who turns away from the Qur’an will have a life of hardship in this world. God has said:
(But whoever turns away from the Qur’an, he will have a hard life, and We will raise him up blind on the Day of Judgment.) (Qur’an, 20:124)
This may explain why some people commit suicide while they enjoy the material comfort money can buy. For example, look at Cat Stevens (now Yusuf Islam), formerly a famous pop singer who used to earn sometimes more than $150,000 a night. After he converted to Islam, he found true happiness and peace, which he had not found in material success.
