I bought a (gold?) ring from someone in the street for £10, and it has the markings '750' and '18k' on the inside. It looks like gold, and feels like gold, but how can I tell for sure?

I am a Girl Scout leader who is having a party for 17 Brownie Girl Scouts. The theme is Enchanted Garden Fairy Party.
Eah girl will be getting wings, making wands, large tissue paper flowers, fairy pictures. I will be hiding tiny pictures of fairlies all over the room for them to find, we will play pin the horn on the unicorn, fairy musical chairs, minature I Spy, eating flower covered cupcakes and "dirt cake" (chocolate pudding, crushed Oreo cookies, gummy worms and a silk flower stuck into a small flower pot). I am making "Sparkle punch" (Hawaiian punch, 7-Up, orange soda & sherbet).
So far I have decided to hang long garlands of silk flowers (from the dollar store) from the ceiling and have all the tables covered in spring green colored table cloths.
What else can I do to make this party lovely & enchanted?
All ideas are welcome!

Would rubber stamps work on felt? I want to apply fabric paint to the stamp and then stamp felt with my friend's initials. Think it would work?

I've tried ebay, but I can't seem to find anything smaller than black chain with links sized 3.5mm x 6mm... I'm looking for something even smaller than that. Perfect size would be 2mm x 3mm!

You know, when like you make a collage with magazine cut outs n stuff.. what kind of "glaze" would you put on top of it all to seal it in the end? like ive heard of white glue n water but i dont really like that technique..

We have a stamp collecting book that my grandfather put together around WWII. It has stamps in it from about 1885 to 1945 (a few newer ones were added into the 1960s but the book was printed in the early 1940s). Some of the stamps are cancelled but most are not. We intend to keep it in the family (it has sentimental value for us), but would like to know if we have any treasures in it. We don't really want to pay for an appraisal. Does anyone know of a web site or book that would offer estimates of these old stamps. There are at least a thousand of them.
