A family member passed away and while cleaning out personal belongings we discovered a shot gun. I was allowed to keep the gun and want to learn more about it. I ordered a book on antique guns, but still don't know much about the parts and how they work. It has a 5 digit number on the silver near where you put your finger in. This same number is located inside where you open the barrells. This is a Parker Bros. Conn Damascus Steel PATD March 26, 1878. What is the best way for me to research the value of this gun?

I am creating my own engagement announcements on card stock that is 4 1/2" X 6 1/2". What size or type envelope do I need? I found some envelopes online that are exactly that size, but will it be too tight of a squeeze? Any advice would be great! Thanks!

WHich is cuter for a girl? She will use this as a baby, so we want it to be really cute, but she will grow up, of course and still use it. But then again my dad's sticking is a little boy's sticking and so is my mom's so it really doesn't matter which is better for an older girl. Just which is cuter

1. in your opinion
2. if you were a little girl

I'm looking to buy a good machine for home crafts that's easy enough for a novice (who learns quickly) to use. Quilting, pillows, curtains, maybe some simple clothing patterns and/or clothing repairs. But I really have NO IDEA what the difference is between a SERGER and a SEWING machine. Also what brands would you recommend in the 'under $400' price range?

I'd like to make a piece of fabric stiff so that it is hard to the touch, but I don't want to use anything that would contribute color to the fabric. Is there a crafting liquid that would do this? Can I use clear glue?

This was a rainy day thing my mother did years ago. I just remember her pouring a whole box of salt in a big bowl and then adding other things. My sister and I would divide it into four big balls and color each with a different food color. This would keep us busy for hours.I would love to do this with my grandchildren. Does anyone know what else was in it? Thanks!

I am working on a project for which I need to cut out several hundred copies of (fairly simple) paper doll pattern for a children's craft table. I am wondering if I can save time for myself and my volunteers by getting some kind of cutting machine. I have never done any scrapbooking. I will be using some sort of cardstock or lightweight posterboard. If I buy a cutting machine, can I make my own die for the pattern? (I have access to a metal shop that might be able to do it.) I have looked at cutting machines online, but don't quite understand how they all work. Also, many don't list the maximum size of a sheet they can handle. Any thoughts would be most appreciated! Thanks!

I am 22 years old and decided the other day that I wanted to take up knitting. Just something I can do to pass the time and pass on to my future children. I was just wondering if you knew of any books/websites that may help me learn faster. I already picked up the basics in a few hours but I'm still a ways away from being great at it. My knits aren't quite uniform yet but they are getting there. If you know of any easy beginners patterns or a book that might help I'd really appreciate it. THANKS!!!

I've used a "traditional" tumbler. Want to know the results using a vibrating one. I know the traditional method takes much longer. Stones are more rounded. Is the shape changed drastically with the other kind of tumbler?
