Does anybody out there know about the wiring on a model train layout? I bought some old fashioned green and white lampshades with bulbs. They are low voltage with resistors how can I wire them into my layout, and what do I need to get to power them? Thanks!

The problem is walmart only had dark transfer paper left when i went. i tried it on a grey shirt first (my first attempt) and it came out horribly because it left the original white rectangle (for some reason i thought everything white would disappear or become transparent). so since i am forced to leave some white on the deisng, since im sure i wont be able to cleanly cut aroung the image since it is quite an intricate design, i want to use it with a white shirt. can i do this with a dark heat transfer paper? whats the difference with dark and light transfer paper?

thanks!

I have a chair just like this one below...a louis 16th repro chair in a toile/heavy upholstery fabric but with a cheesier print on it. I wanted to re-upholster it but probably wouldnt do a good job and the chair isn't valuable enough to take to an upholsterer (its from JC Penny)...so just for fun I wonder if I painted it black with fabric paint would it work? It would have to be opaque to cover the design but would that cause cracking or peeling? Its ok if the texture comes through, and I know it would look kind of weird and/or edgy so dont worry about warning me about that, I just wonder how the paint or dye would hold up...also if you have experimented with success feel free to mention brands of paint etc. here's the link

Could anyone tell me or give me a link to a site that tells one how to knit lace-up gaunlets? I'm rather a beginner at knitting; I've only done scarves before, but I know how to do most of the different kinds of stitches. I need really simple instructions because I don't know all the knitting terminology and abbreviations... Please and thank you very much. All help is greatly appreciated ^.^

my brother recently got a box of solder, organic core, rosin core, and flux core. only thing is, he got it with the intent to give it to my grandparents to melt it into bullets, which i think could be hazarous, and i was wondering, could anyone get hurt by doing this? its just its a 50lbs of solder spools and it looks like its being wasted on something that could harm someone, what should i do?
by harm, i mean the fumes from the cores and stuff.

I want to order a Latidoll Red M. However, everytime I try to register for the site, I type in all my info and hit OK, and nothing happens.

I turned off all the popup blockers and stuff like that, but its like the button just doesnt do anything. Anyone else had this same problem? How do I order a Latidoll without the registration working?

I am a cyclist and hiker with average sewing skills and a yard of this orange material in my stash. I would like to use it for safety-related high-visibility gear that I can make myself. It's a bit heavy for a bandana, and I've made a couple of small flags and pouches from the scraps. I'm looking for suggestions for other projects to make the most of this opportunity. Thanks for your ideas!

I want to cut some intricate shapes from a sheet of stainless steel, and I need to know how clean and accurate the cut would be using a standard cnc plasma table (not high definition plasma cutting).

Basically, the accuracy is very important because I am looking to place the stainless steel shapes into laser engraved mdf e.g I would first laser engrave some shapes into mdf (to a depth of 1.25 mm), and then I would cut the exact same shapes out of stainless steel and place them into the engraved areas (obviously the engraved areas would be slightly larger so that the shapes would fit).

I have already tried doing this using shapes that were cut using a laser, and the fit is near perfect. But my question is would the shapes fit as good if they were cut using plasma (this is based on the plasma cutting the stainless steel at whatever speed etc would produce the best cut)? Finally, would the top edges of the plasma cut shapes be 90% or would the plasma cut the egdes slightly curved

Does anyone know if it's possible to make product and postal cartons using a laser engraver? I would obviously guess that it's easy to laser cut the basis templates but can you get the laser engraver to make a shallow cut along the fold lines to make the assembly of the boxes easier e.g the cardboard is say 3mm thickness and the laser cuts along the fold lines to a depth of 2mm.

How do you tell scratches from die cracks and cuds? Any good tips? Also, does anyone know if Wisconsin State Quarter (D), have been found a yellowish tinted color? I have one, but is it worth anything? Thanks. I can supply pictures of the Wiscosin one. However, my digital camera seems to have difficulty zooming in on the cracks. Tell me if you need pictures.

Thanks.

I want to practice my sewing but doing it on myself or others is too expensive, plus no one around here truly appreciates a made-to-measure garment. I remembered that someone in my family used to make dresses for Barbies and I thought that would be a great way for me to practice and get better at my sewing. I tried to do it but it was a mess and I would really like some help with it.
