Sorry milk,
Sorry cow! As I pour the remnants of which remained in the glass.
Who said we should depend on every molecule from the gentle beast, to get our sustaining power from?
From their birth, their filthy pens, and the torture of being slain.

Lets trade places with the cows.

The cow family sit round the table, waiting for their dinner. The smell from the grill is almost too much to bear. "I get the nose" cried the calf. "I get a thumb" cried her sister. "Me too" cried her brother.
The sorry backyard cries from the humans pen escalate. They cry, scream and try and get out!
Don't they know they are just food? cried the cows. Mmm mm. Mighty tasty! As the thumbnail is crunched and swallowed!

I am an Ovo-Lacto vegetarian (if you eat meat I'm not asking you.) And am borderline overweight for my BMI (though everyones different, I feel its to much for my body.) And my husband is really overweight (he eats meatbut not at home so its not much)

I do not eat a lot of chips, pops, sugar, fast food, etc. And personally I don't even eat a lot of dairy because I just don't really like it.

I would really like to cut back on the carbs I eat.
I never was a great cook and as I learned to cook veggie it was all carb based. Even my veg cookbooks are mostly carb based meals.

I really just don't know how to cook a meal without pasta, bread, or rice! So I am asking for some ideas of what I can cook. Not just for one or 2 nights, Ideas I can use often. I don't need direct recipies, though I wouldn't mind them, I just need some ideas of even what kind of recipies to look for. I just cannot think of much vegetarian that is low in carbs.

My friend from gentlemen's lodge has went on this crazy cult diet and is losing his hair. I have 2 questions actually. The next question is this. Should someone who is losing their hair go ahead and shave their head? Which looks better, a person with thinning hair or a shaved head?

Are their teeth, skin, general health better? I have wondered about this for years now as I am sort of contemplating becoming a vegetarian. Is there anything unhealthy about it.eg. certain protein, mineral deficiencies? Do they get food poisoning, have health food scares etc.

if there's anyone here from san francisco, i'd love to find a recipe that is similar to the marinade used at asqew (the restaurant with all the skewered food).

if not, just a really good marinade for tofu. also, i drained and froze my tofu - should i thaw it before marinating it, or just put it in the fridge with the marinade on it for a day to thaw?

i've cooked with tofu lots before, but my wife is really picky about tofu, but loved the stuff from asqew, so i'm trying to replicate it as best i can!

Anyone here vegan and hypoglycemic that can help me adjust my diet plan? My dr refuses to give me substitutions for meat and milk, but i'm not sure where vegan things fit in (like soymilk, tempeh, satien, etc). Thanks for any help!
