I'm not sure how UK food laws work but you should be aware (since coke is US based) that the US FDA lists Civet Oil as a "natural flavor" additive to cola (but don't state which cola uses it). The rumor is that RC Cola uses it but there isn't anyway for us to know who really is putting it in their product (it's a trade secret). Coca-Cola (along with the other brands) have largely switched to High Fructose Corn Syrup as their sweetener but here in the US all the major cola makers have stated that if Sucrose is listed it may be processed with bone char (literally burnt animal bones).

Just to cover the bases, Pepsi is almost certainly *not* veggie! They won't admit to it anymore but their name is derived from Pepsin (which is obtained from pigs) and they originally advertised their use of it. Pepsin is still on the FDA list so it's wise to assume that it's still in there!

I've never had any major cola maker give a direct yes/no as to animal content of their products. They've responded to my queries with legalisms that my attorneys say mean nothing.

Just a word to the wise!

examine the climate. as with every flavoured beverages, it comprise specific quantity of nutrition ingredients. some nutrition ingredients are gained from animal on a similar time as others are appropriate for vegetarians. (See link under) additionally, observing the country of commencing place, some cola factories specific their components to be produced "from non-animal or plant commencing place". in many cases, I circumvent beverages that have not got such specific labelling.

Soda, in general, isn't good for anyone. It's mostly High Fructose Corn Syrup which our bodies convert into the worst kind of transfat.
