I am doing a debate at school and i need some examples of why meat is good for you?

One of the requirements is that we cite our sources, so, if you have some examples, can you please give them to me WITH your NAME.

Thanks!

You are in the wrong section to ask that question. There's a reason why this is called the VEGETARIAN & VEGAN forum. . .and it has nothing to do with meat eating.

But to answer your question, there is nothing good about meat eating, either from a personal or an environmental/economic standpoint. Vegetarians get their protein from soy products, nuts, peas, beans, etc. There are plenty of healthy vegetarian sources of iron, as well. Meat eating is a question of personal preference, not health.

And factory farming is a major source of pollution -- everything from methane gas to water pollution. It's also not very efficient: the same 22 pounds of grain that it takes to produce 1 pound of beef could feed several people for two days, instead of for just one meal.

I'm afraid you're not going to get much support from me on your side of the debate.

well it's about the same as everything else.. meats have proteins, vitamins, minerals, fats, oils and of course the famous vitamin b 12.

but that goes the same with vegetables.

which both are prone to unsafe handling which everyone should be cautious of and cook, store and prepare properly.

:D

not all meat is created equal, just with vegetables and fruits... grains.. information is revelant an unique for every type of meat and other food out there. do the research.

google.com about meats and the properties, ingrediants, minerals.

:D

I think you put this in the Vegetarian and vegan section by accident. Ask it in General food people will give you some better examples there. We know nothing about eating meat here.

Oh honey. The veggie section is just the wrong place to ask why meat is good for you. That should got in the General section. We veggies will give you hundreds of reasons why meat is BAD for you.

Chemicals. Steroids. E.Coli. Parasites. Viral infection. Cancer. Diabetes. Heart Disease. Osteoporosis.

Shall I go on?

In your debate, since you're trying to convince people that you SHOULD eat meat, talk about how going vegetarian doesn't give you all of the nutrients you need.

meat is good for in the right quantities. it is good to have a balance in the body which comes from different types of foods. eating only meat would be bad for you. one person who answered your question "beebs" says that we would be equipped to hunt prey (claws and teeth etc)if we were meant to eat meat but i think we are actually equipped. we have the brains to outsmart "prey" by inventing guns and breeding animals. another person said that u shouldn't eat meat cause of chemicals and steroids and things well u should do a bit more research cause if u dont think that fruit and veggies have it in too then u should catch a wake up. :)

Meat is not good for you. If humans were designed to eat meat, we would be equiped with the ability to hunt down and catch our prey, kill it will sharp claws, and devour it raw and digest it, like lions and other predators do. The only way we can eat meat is to purchase it, or hunt it with a weapon. We were designed with imposable thumbs to gather fruits and vegetables. You can read more about why I do not eat meat on my blog at http://360.yahoo.com/profile-8un2KqU5fqcymrT5VxB0z8D4HEMAF4PLG8OJLQ--?cq=1

You may quote your source as Brenda or you may refer to my blog. You have my permission to use information you find there for your paper. Look for the section of the blog that says "Why I do not eat commercial meat and poultry" Good luck, hope the info helps

you should get on the other side of the debate because there is no way someone intelligent could debate that meat IN ANY WAY is good for you.
