I do vigorous hour-long workouts 6 times a week, and as I am basically going to be a Vegan until Easter, I need to get my protein from elsewhere. I don't really eat meat but was a big fish eater... that will be hard giving up!!! serious answers appreciated xx

I'd like to know which brands of stuffed pasta are vegetarian. I don't consume eggs and the usual brand I buy (Barilla) only has stuffed pasta made with egg.

Also, is it possible to make stuffed pasta at home, right from scratch? If so, got any good recipes?

Thanks very much. =)

I was thinking about becoming a vegetarian, i looked up a few details on the net and found the whole concept very hypocritical. How can you refrain from eating the meat of an animal yet still see no problem with eating eggs and cheese, drinking milk etc, do these veggies realise that by doing this they are still promoting agriculture and providing the farmer with all the encouragement he need to carry on using animals for his financial benefit?
I'm aware that there is an alternative of becoming a Vegan and that in my opinion is the only thing worth doing, why only go half way? Does anyone else think that being a Veggie is pretty pointless?

i havent had red meat in 8 years...i hope... i get pretty bad anxiety eating almost anything these days because im so suspicious of where the food actually came from or what meat products may have contaminated it...i really freak out if i think i taste meat...my psychologist told me i should get over it by having a burger and realizing that i wont die...i detest this suggestion and frankly find it offensive..what should i do???

I was wondering,
1) What made you become a vegetarian?
2) What you eat that is quite enjoyable?
3) How do you get all of the protein and nutrients that you need in order to stay healthy.

I just saw a movie called Our Daily Bread and was horrified by the military precision and lack of caring for the animals that were getting slaughtered. The butchers didn't seem to care at all about the comfort of the animals. They just slaughtered them with reckless abandon, and didn't even flinch when an animal was suffering and in pain. I am a very strong Christian and God has given us dominion over the animals, not just for our sick amusement or pleasure.

I have been seriously considering going vegetarian, but have yet to try it. So what I have decided to do is give up meat for lent, just to see if I can handle it and if it is something I can maintain for the rest of my life.

I don't want to malnutrition myself, so I would like to know more about what vitamins humans NEED and in what foods I can find them in. Is it really necessary to take vitamins if I eat the proper foods? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

I never was really a meat eater but i liked my ground beef. 3 weeks ago i was cooking drum sticks for my husband and i almost vomited. i saw the chicken nerves or tendons and inside the broken bone. I feel even gross to eat eggs and guilty when having milk with cereal. It seems after this there is not much left to eat only carbs. do vetetarians eat dairy products? I barly ate all day because the chicken was in my mind and almost passed out from it. what are some filling veggie foods. Help i do not know what to eat.

It's going to be very very difficult for me. My family is one reason, they have a healthy obnivore diet and meeting their needs plus mine will be difficult. I just am tired of meat (taste-wise) plus I had a pet chicken. But I think if I just quit meat cold turkey (no pun intended), I'm not going to last, is there a method, some tips that will help me convert ?

How did you guys manage it ?
Are there any books that you recommend ?

I really want to try this vegetarian thing out for the sake of MY conscious and my herbivore taste buds.

Please can anyone share any original veggie recipies? I've been stuck in a pasta / cous cous / noodle rut for some time and need something new and interesting. I'm also a lazy cook and despair at the thought of hours slaving in a kitchen - so please, nothing that a cooking dummie cannot handle! And if that wasn't bad enough, I have a fixed orthodontic appliance (braces) and so cannot have anything hard that might break my wires!
