I don't think eating has much to do with loving animals or not. We may be technologically advanced but due to the speed (or lack of) when it comes to evolving, we're still very much in the cave. Eating meat is about survival of the fittest, we've been doing it for thousands of years and we'll continue to do it for thousands to come. I doubt lions on the plains of Africa find themselves embroiled in the same morale dilemma!

I don't think it's possible to be an animal lover and continue to eat meat. I came to this realisation a while ago and I'm now a vegan. I can not, in all conscience cause suffering to an animal because I have too much love for them. To me it's a simple, moral equation.

No. Because meat comes from animals and I can't see why anyone will bear to eat someone they love.

No. If you love animals you don't eat them. And if you buy into the factory farming thing then you're actively funding their misery.
I take it most meat eaters don't actually hunt their dinner themselves? If you do, and do it humanely then fair play to you (sort of), if not, you don't 'love animals'.

Animals eat each other, it is the law of the land. Animals were put here on earth to supply us with needed nutrition. If you do not eat meat, you will get sick. My friend didn't eat meat for a week one time and he ended up in the hospital for malnutrition.
