Soy is only raw if sold as the vegetable edamama. You should avoid soy anyway as most of it is genetically modified and no longer healthy. I eat raw milk, raw cheese, and raw butter. Most raw foodies dont, but I love my dairy. The key to going raw is dont force yourself to go one hundred percent. Read my answer on the the other raw food question, might help a bit. I eat about 80 percent raw, but still enjoy a few cooked foods, and on special occaisions I will eat fish or seafood. I consume raw sugar as well. There are some great groups on yahoo for raw diet. I eat homemade raw bars, and lots of yummy things.
edit: I notice the typical ignorant idiot posting on here about not eating raw-pay them no mind, they havent done their homework and think it the FDA says its ok, then it must be. Silly fools dont realize the FDA approved all of those drugs that are now linked to deaths. I dont know anyone who has died from eating raw. We are thriving on it Pity the fools that think the standard american diet, laden with toxic chemicals and crap is the way to go. Congrats to you on being more informed. Email me if you need any more info, I will be glad to help-I HAVE done my homework

That depends on the soy. Beebs says edamame is raw. It is not. it is boiled soy bean in the pod. Even the stuff you buy frozen has been previously boiled.
Tofu is soy milk to which a coagulant has been added. Soy milk is boiled ground up soy beans.
Many raw foodists use tempeh - which is fermented soy beans. They seem to make exceptions to fermented items.
Nama Shoyu is soy sauce that has not been processed. Nama means raw. Soy sauce somes from fermented soy beans. Tamari is a different formulation of soy sauce. I've never seen raw tamari.
Raw foodists also use a lot of Miso which is paste from fermentation of soy beans and other items. There is red miso, white miso, yellow miso, barley miso, rice miso.

anything that was not heated more than 115 degrees. Unprocessed sugar is fine. I use maple syrup or agave nectar. No cheese. Soy is ok but nut milk is preferred like almond or macadamia.
