Doing a debate on the pros/cons of vegetarianism - help would be greatly appreciated. In case you were wondering, I'm pro, and I was just wondering if iron deficiency. I already know that green, leafy vegetables are a great source of iron.

I've asked a couple of very close friends if they would do this:

Eat a vegetarian diet for ONE day out of EACH week. 52/365 meals a year would have no animal products.

I'm wondering what the "general public" thinks of this.

Do you think you could do that? And, would you ever? Why or why not?

I'm a vegetarian and I notice that I tend to replace meat with carbs instead of vegetables and/or legumes, etc.

I realize that some carbs are okay, but I eat TOO MUCH, like for snacks and for meals.

Are there any ideas of what I can eat instead that is low in fat and carbs?

Thanks!

For example, if eating a stew would you just pick out the beef?
Or, when eating pizza do you care if the pizza is half vegi and half pepperoni.

Or, when eating a sandwhich..if there is a small piece of lunchmeat that accidentally got on yours.

Or, when grilling do you mind if there are hamburgers grilled next to your stuff?

I am just curious...There are no right or wrong answers here...
I just want to know how you feel. Thanks in Advance...

I made one last night that had fresh cut up pears in it and figs with onion and red papper slices, mised with baby spinach. I poured a vinagriette on it made from champagne vinegar and olive oil... It was good but I want to make something different..should I have added some goat cheese to the salad? If you have any good green salad recipes can you share them with me?

I've been trying to make a tofu at home that can be fried nicely but end up the fried tofu is very hard outside (thick skin) and very watery inside. Is there any method to make it crispy for the outside skin and empty inside so the result will like a ball. Thanks a lot for the answer.
