I don't serve nut roast as there's a nut allergy sufferer in the group, and I'm bored of doing roasted mediterranean vegetables. It's not good form to just give extra veggies, so any suggestions?

I bought a bag of carrots today. When I opened the container and began removing the carrots, I noted that most of them felt slippery, even somewhat slimey. Although I was able to rinse them off to the point that they felt normal again, I was wondering if eating them might be unwise. Other than this particular problem, the veggies are nice and firm, seeming to have no other defect...no visible signs of mold, etc.

Does anybody know any environmentally friendly ways to pack lunch for school? Currently, I'm using a large plastic bag which I use everyday (a lunch bag that takes up less space in my backpack) and two plastic bags containing pretzels and a sandwich which I dispose of everyday. Any suggestions?

I'm having a hard time finding foods that contain sufficient protein to compensate for my vegetarian diet. I'm not sure about what foods contain the most protein. What are my options?
