I've been an omnivore most of my life but am considering the vegan diet after finding out how good it is for your health. I've started it already, but I'm already missing salt on my food or having dairy. Anybody else gone through this? What do you think of the vegan approach to eating?

I know that the darker the lettuce the more vitamins. Right? So what is the best kind of lettuce you can buy in a regular grocery stores? I've been buying "hearts of romaign"...is that better than the romaign leaves? Lemme know if you know, because if I'm going to eat leaves they'd better at least be the best kind lol

I've cut out all meat since I have a thing about textures. I just don't like the way they feel in my mouth. I do, however, need something for protein and I am NOT going to drink soy milk (Tasted it.... Yuck!) I've had Tofu and it's not too bad. I don't want to buy it online, and I don't live near any places that sell only soy and other foods like that. Can I get it at my local Wal*Mart or GNC? And what do you suggest I use it in. Like, can you flavor it at all? Thank you!

I was eating poultry, but now I'm starting to not like it anymore. I don't eat meats and things like bananas since I don't like the way they feel in my mouth. Poultry is starting to get to me. My mom insists that I'm overreacting and "Playing it up" when it comes to textures, so I'm not sure how I'm going to tell her that I won't eat anymore meat. It's also that I'm now a cheerleader and I need to get my stomach muscles tight and lose the "baby fat" that I keep being told will go away, WHICH IT WON'T WITHOUT MY INITATIVE. Please help!

I'm a vegetarian and I am thinking of giving up eggs. Egg whites for breakfast have been a great source of portein for me for years. Any idea of a non-ovo breakfast food that delivers a high protein punch?

Any nutritionists or WELL experienced veges out there that can help me out with some advice?
