I know that the darker the lettuce the more vitamins. Right? So what is the best kind of lettuce you can buy in a regular grocery stores? I've been buying "hearts of romaign"...is that better than the romaign leaves? Lemme know if you know, because if I'm going to eat leaves they'd better at least be the best kind lol

No, no, no...stock up on bags of spring mix when on sale. I just bought a # for 3 bucks.

I would say that Romaine lettuce is definitely the best type along with Spinach leaves. Get both and make a terrific salad! And I believe that you are correct about the darker the lettuce the more vitamins.

We grow on our allottment, Swiss Chard, and it is a cross between spinach and lettuce and cabbage, and it is absolutely gorgeous, it is dark green, easy to grow and so tasty. You can eat it raw, steam or boil it is fabulous.
