It obviously depends on where in the UK you are, but I recommend you go to a market or vegetable stall on the street at the end of the day and simply ask them what they have that needs to go. They will generally be happy to give you a small bag of vegetables for a quid rather than having to throw the stuff away. Alternatively, Sainsbury's and Tesco generally have a section of reduced stuff that's about to go out of date.
And if you're determined to keep this budget up for a while, consider joining the UK's growing number of freegans. More info at http://freegan.info/?page=community

whereever you are, first thing you must budget your everyday's expenditure. You may keep a fixed amount for each day to complete two weeks. You may select your food choice according to your budget for the day. If you are preparing your own food, you may opt for cooking rice with boiled vegetables, some fruits which are available at cheaper cost. Ensure that you drink lot of water, more than food. that's how you can manage your two weeks nicely without hassles.

Thats harsh, lots of pasta... what you need to know how to do is long term budget. Ie a sack of rice is expensive in one go but over time a lot cheaper, then get ingredients a bit at a time and build up.
Veg from markets...
Team up with others to by in bulk then split it. ie a crate of peppers and then something else then spit a pepper each. Best just before closing time.
Things like curries and stews are goos if you can store them... the flavour spreads and you can add water and bulk it up with cheap stuff. (plus less cooking)

Loads of pasta, chicken, minced beef and tonnes of tuna.
Each day have pasta with a different meat. Cooked pasta with tuna and sweet chili sauce is yummy! Or even bacon.
Spag Bol is always a winner too. Don't know if you could budget much for 2 weeks though. Unless it was beans on toast.

Pasta and rice (own brands)
Check out the reduced to clear in the supermarkets every couple of days. You can get some good deals on veg and fruit.
Buy skimmed milk - it'll last longer.
Invest in some veggie stock cubes - they'll help with the taste factor.

Learn to bake, breads, cookies etc. Cereal is good, beans and lentils, pasta, fresh veggies. If you have a farmers market close to you go there as they will barter over the price. And if everythng else fails, go over to a friends house for dinner or a food bank.

Depends how much time you have.
Buy seeds ,cultivate ,water them every day, then after around 2-3 months you can eat for more than 2 weeks with less than 10 bucks.
If you are a non-veg , don't forget to buy chicks also. And let them feed on their own till you.....

I don't think you can budget on less than a pound a day.
Wow thats impossible! Rice is going to fill you up, and pasta. You must have a balanced diet so I think you are going to struggle with your problem.Sorry!!!!

Buy lots of veg and stock, and make a soup, that can also be used as a sauce as a casserole, pasta bake or a side sauce with some meat.
