Being a vegetarian sometimes is better for your health if you actually eat healthy food. However, you must watch your carbohydate intake because a lot of vegetarians tend to be overweight due to excessive carbs and dairy in place of meat.

My sister has been a vegetarian for at least 5 years. Ive seen her pudgy and Ive seen her thin. Pasta is/was a big thing for her-- all those carbs can make you chunk up. Whether you do or do not eat meat, you have to be conscious of what you eat to ensure a balanced diet. She also used to drink ensure every now and again, to make sure she was getting the vitamins she needed. She pays attention to her heatlh a little more now- so she tends to not have those problems. But eating right alone doesnt necessarily make you tone.She was thin, but still had some flab-- she recently started yoga and has toned up and looks great. Me on the otherhand... I eat meat. Im a good size... and I run to keep myself looking tone-- though, Im having a little trouble right now with it since I just had a baby.
The bottom line-- it's more about preference. Eat a variety of healthy foods-- fruits, veggies and if you choose meat. Watch calories. Exercise. :o)

If you are a careless vegetarian who just eats lots of carbs and junk food, than no, it's not. On the other hand, a meat eater who eats mostly fish and very little red meat, can be quite healthy.
However, if you are a vegetarian who really eats a balanced diet of non-processed natural foods, it can be much healthier.
Vegetarians don't have to worry about mad cow, e-coli, bad or undercooked meat, salmonella, etc. - Not to mention less risk of heart disease and high cholestrol that comes with eating red meat.
All in all, when done right, vegetarianism is a much healthier diet.

No. The quantity of what you eat is more important than what you eat. There are healthy diets that include meat. Also vegetarians must consume some animal products to survive through vitamin supplementation(like B12). The best diet is probably a balanced diet high in fresh fruits and vegetables and low in sweet things and of course fatty meats like sausage. Bottom line all humans are omnivores.

You can be healthy or unhealthy in either diet. Vegetarians tend to be healthier because we are more conscience about what we eat and our protein has little to no fat. Simply cutting meat out of your diet is not going to make you healthier, the best way is a well balance diet (vegetarian or not) and daily exercise. That said, eating meat is a choice not a necessity, there are plenty of alternatives if you only take the time to look.

a vegetarian is more than just not eatting meat ..its not eatting processed foods chemicals additives dyes..its not eatting while everyone else is, because healthy food (that meets the criteria) isnt always available.It's a great way to lose wieght and to learn to control what you put in your body it teaches disapline

No. You need meat to nurtrure your body veggies eat a lot of CARBS. that are bad for you lots of breads and pastas. you need meat to even it out
