Doing a debate on the pros/cons of vegetarianism - help would be greatly appreciated. In case you were wondering, I'm pro, and I was just wondering if iron deficiency. I already know that green, leafy vegetables are a great source of iron.

Yes, I am in nursing and vitamin C aids in the absorption of iron. Also, taking iron on an empty stomach and avoiding milk an hour prior and an hour after taking iron also aids in absorption. I am also anemic, so I must practice this daily.

Vitamin C does aid in the absorption of Iron in the body. Doctors recommend taking Vit. C with Iron.

Vitamin C is the best for iron absorption. I also know that iron is very sensitive and easy to be destroyed, don't ever mix it with calcium. Take your pill and after 6 hours you can eat cheese or drink milk.

Iron is recommended with Folic Acid too
