I'm a vegetarian and I notice that I tend to replace meat with carbs instead of vegetables and/or legumes, etc.

I realize that some carbs are okay, but I eat TOO MUCH, like for snacks and for meals.

Are there any ideas of what I can eat instead that is low in fat and carbs?

Thanks!

Most plant protein sources (beans, legumes, etc.) have carbs in them already, so you need to eat more to get the equivalent in protein than you would with meat.
Veggies in general tend to have lower carbs than fruit and vegetables, but you need to have both.
Try to balance stuff out with your exercise and workout plan. You're actually better off working out and exercising more, thus speedign up your metabolism, than trying to eat less carbs.
At least IMO anyway

I like to munch on carrots to stay away from carbs. You can always buy low carb protein bars or eat snacks like celery sticks and low fat peanut butter. If you really want to cut your carbs, you really should do more label reading when you go shopping.

What you can replace those carbs with are nuts and fruit. Also if you drink a lot of water, it helps to burn the carbs out of your system.

Get a book on Carb counters, they will tell you every thing that is a carb and how much carbs they are ,,

i always think of carbs as any junk food, cake, cookie, pie , pasta potatoes bread fruits, and yet there are "GOOD CARBS", and 'NAUGHTY CARBS,

if it has no food value, i consider it a "BAD UNNECESSARY CARB"

yeah i understand. it's hard not to eat heaps of carbs when you're a vegetarian. for dinners you could have things like omletts, eggs & beans, etc. for snacks you could snack on nuts and raw veggies, or fruit. hope this helps :)
