If anyone gives you crap for being a vegetarian, that's their problem. There's nothing wrong with being a vegetarian. vegetarianism is healthier than a meat based diet (less harmful fats and calories). Plus, if the whole world went vegetarian, think of the impact it would have. Less money and resources would be spent on raising cattle, which is extremely costly. You have to first gain the immense space, then raise the greens for the cattle to eat (which is also expensive. that effort could go straight towards feeding you, rather than feeding the cattle then feeding you. it cuts out the middle man.), then comes the slaughtering process which is, again, costly. Mark Twain had some good thoughts on vegetarianism that you should look up. That's just my two cents on it.

Point is, don't worry about people giving you lip about it. if you have a reason for being a vegetarian, then those people shouldn't matter anyway. Being a vegetarian is a personal choice that should be based on personal beliefs, not what other people think. If you want to be a vegetarian, go for it. If you don't, that's cool too, don't worry about it. Its your choice and your choice alone. Good luck with it.

Dear Stephen,

This is all in your mind that people will make fun of you after knowing that you don't take meat. Really, you don't eat meat? If this is so, you are the right person having love for all the living things God has created.

Meat eating is not the work of a man or worman, only the animals are allowed to eat meat. See your teeth are not made for taking meat. Your teeth are small ones and the beasts have long even larger teeth especially made for eating meet.

A man should be a pure vegetarian only. Eating fish, egg, birds, animals (pets or not) etc. is the act against the nature.

Living on vegetarian food is allowed only. If any body thinks that you are not 'respectable as you are a vegetarian, then this is their 'wrong' thinking. You should be respected by all others. Through away this thinking what others will think if you don't eat meat.

Regards,
rsjrsj

Of course not, just take in mind being a vegetarian is not easy, you have to make up for all the protein and vitamins youre not getting from meat. I recommen consulting a nutricionist before taking any action. not getting minerals you need might turn you sick, and no i dont think people will react badly if you are a vegetarian, actually it takes a lot of discipline to be one. I wish this ll help

Not really. Most restaurants and even fast food places now accomodate vegetarians. Your family/friends might take some time to adjust to your not eating meat - but that doesn't mean anything. Being a vegetarian is highly acceptable and normal.

I have been vegetarian my whole life. I am 6'3 and found that no one makes fun of what I eat. I am not sure if it is that I am bigger than they are or if they just don't care. I would avoid being that annoying vegetarian who tells everyone how bad meat is though. That will get you in trouble, and it even annoys us vegetarians sometimes :)

It's a really healthy choice but only you can make it. Do you really think you can give up meat? And yes you will be made fun of and judged, I know because I'm a vegeterian.

it's up to you, if you feel you no longer want to eat meat (for whatever reason) then yes you should. and yes, you'll find that people will sometimes judge you because of it. i became a vegetarian about 5 months ago, and people are still finding it hard to comprehend. they think it's a phase or a fad diet, but you learn not to listen to them. i gave up meat because i don't like the smell/taste/texture of meat, if people can't accept that then that's their problem. i think you should go for it, you'll feel heaps better!!

What the **** do you care what people think of your eating habits??? You're the one who has to taste and swallow it, right? Frankly, it's up to you but you need meat; you were made to eat it - you wouldn't have those 4 canine incisors if you didn't. But, if you insist on listening to trendy idiots and caring what others think, go ahead...live your life for everyone else except you!
