I made one last night that had fresh cut up pears in it and figs with onion and red papper slices, mised with baby spinach. I poured a vinagriette on it made from champagne vinegar and olive oil... It was good but I want to make something different..should I have added some goat cheese to the salad? If you have any good green salad recipes can you share them with me?

I used to work in a deli and there were such a variety of salads that you wouldn't think of but were nice for a picnic.

Three bean salad and Cucumber salad were the most popular. I don't have a recipe for either but I'm sure you can look it up on the internet.

I love to make Taffy Apple Salad for picnics. It's a nice light refreshing salad. There are millions of recipies for it over the internet.

The last veggie BBQ I went to friend made a very simple salad of sliced white grapes, rocket lettuce, REAL feta cheese and finely chopped mushrooms. It was served with a very simple vinaigrette (olive oil, seasoning and wine vinegar).
If I feel like salad with my food I have just torn lettuce, chopped tomatoes and REAL feta cheese crumbled over. I don't eat a dressing with that.

I like rucola with small tomatoes, olives, yellow bell pepper and feta cheese. you can also use goat's cheese. Add thinly slieced garlic, onions and a vinaigrette with Balsamico. Season with freshly ground pepper.
