I need a very good recipe to bring to my family thanksgiving dinner this year. I'm asked to bring a side, appetizer, or desert. If you have any great recipes that many people would like (that wouldn't cost to much and isn't exteremely difficult to make) I want to know them! THANKS.

i have followed this recipe to a tee and the cookies do not taste sweet. they taste more like corn bread. what am i doing wrong?

INGREDIENTS
1 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups white sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons white sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
In a large bowl, mix together the shortening and 1 1/2 cups of white sugar until smooth. Stir in the eggs one at a time, blending well after each. Combine the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt; stir into the batter until blended.
Roll the dough into balls the size of small walnuts. Roll in a mixture of 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon. Place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned, but still soft

I'm making dinner on Wednesday for my family, and I'm having a bit of a hard time finding something really good to make, so I was wondering if anyone knew any good recipes or where to find some. I'm an intermediate level cook, so I can deal with slightly more interesting dishes, but I have difficulty timing things so they come out together. Are there any good resources that I could tap online, or do you know something that is a favorite of yours? Help please!

I need some good recipes ( ones that you have tried and liked) that are easy, quick and low budget. Almost anything that you can come up with will be good, I usually use hamburger or chicken.

I was given a recipe the other day for a flat bread that called for one teaspoon of yeast along with the 4 teaspoons of baking powder. The wierd part is that it did not call for any sugar. Isnt sugar what causes the yeast to come alive or to grow?
I have searched the recipe several times and have not found any others that cal for yeast, any opinions?

I borrowed a friends nice shiny silver round cake pans for a cake and washed them in the dishwasher which turned them a dull gray. Is there any thing I can use to polish/clean them to return them to the shiny silver?

I've got numerous recipes - from jotted down family recipes, to article cut-outs, to recipe cards. I want to organize them but I'm not sure how or where to begin. Should I organize them alphabetically, based on the type of meal/dessert it's for, cuisine, etc... And how should I organize them? In folders, albums, etc....I'd like to be able to find the recipe I'm looking for quickly and easily. Any suggestions?

My children 2years and 4, do not like to eat meat, or veggies unless the meat is a form of cold cut.
I have tried sneaking veggies into pasta sauces...doesn't work...along with other ideas I've found on the internet but none have worked very well. I need dinners and luches that are healthy but sneaky and taste GOOD..lol...HELP
I'm planning on getting a blender too, so any blender recipies are much welcomed.
