I need some good recipes ( ones that you have tried and liked) that are easy, quick and low budget. Almost anything that you can come up with will be good, I usually use hamburger or chicken.

I like to cook in bulk, so one meal I like to make is Shepherds Pie
- cook up 1lb. hamburger with chopped onion, drain and add 1/2 cup Ketchup. Put in the bottom of a casserole dish (if you don't like onion, you could use peas or corn, or leave it plain). Top with mashed potatoes and bake in the oven for 45 minutes..sprinkle with cheddar cheese in the last 5 minutes if you want..
What I like about this meal is that it is cheap, and can be made in bulk - I buy 10 lbs of hamburger and fry it ALL.. then I divide the meat up into serving portions - some to be used in spaghetti sauce, some for tacos, chilli or shepherds pie.. freeze it.. then as I need the hamburger for these things, there is no time spent cooking and washing dishes. It is already done! Milk bags are made of heavy duty plastic. I just rinse them out after use, and fill with whatever.. Why cook 10 times and wash that frying pan 10 times when you can do it all at once, in only a few extra minutes?
I do the same thing with most cuts of meat - cook double or triple what I really need - saves energy, dish washing and time..
On a regular basis, I buy turkey on sale - cook it, serve it that night.. the remainder I pull apart, chop up and freeze for:
- hot turkey sandwiches
- turkey salad sandwiches
- fajitas (in place of chicken)
- turkey soup
Then I take all the bones, throw them in a large stock pot with 4 onions, 2 carrots and 2 stalks of celery - bring to a boil, reduce and simmer for 4 - 6 hours - and there you have homemade soup stock! Hope this helps..

Hamburger Stroganoff

You'll need: 1 lb hamburger, 1 onion, 1 cup sliced mushrooms (use fresh if you can, not canned), 1 can low-sodium beef broth, some worcestershire sauce, 1/2 cup sour cream (or more, to taste), some salt and pepper to taste, some egg noodles cooked.

Brown the hamburger with the onion. Drain the fat from the meat and put the meat and onion mixture back in the pan. Add the beef broth, mushrooms, worcestershire sauce and salt and pepper (if using). Simmer at low heat until mushrooms are cooked through. Turn off heat and stir sour cream into mixture. Serve with cooked egg noodles.

Fairly inexpensive, but it's rich and filling, really easy and good! If you have it and want to use it, I have also put some good quality sherry into the gravy, but that's up to you.

This is my mom's creation!

1 (15 ounce) can chili with beans
1/2 cup instant rice or brown rice
1 cup water
1/2 cup shredded cheese
3/4 cup salsa (optional)
10 tortillas (about)
-Heat chili in saucepan. Once heated, add uncooked rice and water. Stir together and let simmer over medium heat about 10-15 minutes until rice is cooked. Don't forget to stir!
Once cooked throughout, turn heat down. Place about 1/3 cup mixture on tortilla and top with 1-2 tablespoons shredded cheese and a few tablespoons salsa and roll up. Once all burritos have been made, zap in microwave for 30-60 seconds to melt cheese and reheat.

Everyone who has tried them has loved them. Very inexpensive and quick!

well, this isn't hamburger's or chicken, but I like it. I feel that I have to type this, before I give you the recipe. It may seem grose, but just try it, before you judge me. Thank you.
this recipe doesn't call for any certian amount of anything. Pu as much of the ingrediants as you like.
what you need: (this depends on what you want in it. I will give you all of the ingrediants, and then I will tell you the things that you MUST have.) meat (ground hamburger meat, or whatever you prefer in taco's.) chips ( I prefer derito's, but you can use plain chips. The ones that you dip in salsa, not lay's or whatever. this ingrediant is defentely needed.) ledace (you don't really have to have this, but I don't really think you would have much of anything without this.) grated cheese (also, not a must have, but it tastes good if you dprinkle a little over everything.) diced tomatoes (not needed, but they give it a little pazzaz.) sour cream (you do however need this.) I feel like I am forgetting something. Nope, I think that is it. Ok, now I will tell you how to make it. It's really easy, and it doesn't involve any cooking.
First you need to put all of your ingrediants into seperate bowls. Small ones. Then get a regulare bowl, and put all of the ingrediants into it. You need to crunch up the chips, but not so much that they re powder. OR little peices. Just howwever you prefer it. mix it all up. There you have it, taco salad.

turkey sandwiches

Get bread (whatever kind you like. You need two peices.) put the two peices on the counter or werever, side by side. spread mustard on each peice of the bread. get sliced turhey and put it in the middle. there you go. simple and fast.
