I borrowed a friends nice shiny silver round cake pans for a cake and washed them in the dishwasher which turned them a dull gray. Is there any thing I can use to polish/clean them to return them to the shiny silver?

I wet it, slather salt all over it and then drip lemon/lime juice all over it. Scrub it up with a 3m scrubber then rinse.

You can try baking soda. They are probably aluminum pans, which get the ghostly gray color reacting w/ DW detergent. The gray will polish off, but it'll take elbow grease!
