I'm going to Oktoberfest this weekend and will be unfamiliar with most of the beers being served. The German beers being offered are Sapten Ur Märzen, Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest, Hofbräu Oktoberfest and Paulaner Hefe-Weissbier. I'm a beer wuss (i.e. I drink Bud Light) and when it comes to branching out I'd rather take baby steps. Which of these should I choose, or none?

I was reading a trivia question on the back of an oatmeal package this morning and it read, "What widely popular food eaten on the fourth of July is actually a vegetable?" And the answer is Watermelon??? How is this possible? Thanks.

I have a great recipe for frozen pina coladas but every time I make them they become liquified towards the end and I would like them to stay frozen the whole time. Its not a question of am I drinking them too slow, because I'm not, trust me. 6oz captain morgan spiced rum, 6oz creme of coconut, 8oz pineapple juice by dole, 1banana, 4cups of ice. i already tried more ice which just ruins the flavor. Any ideas would be worth a try.thanks

I think that grilled fish is better for the body than raw fish. I know that it is better than fried fish. The key is making sure you use extra virgin coconut or plain olive oil.

We want to serve either Whitefish or Halibut at a black tie affair for 150 people. However, we are concerned with the fish drying out. Is it too risky to serve either one of these options? Should we play it safe and serve Sea Bass as it has a higher fat content? WE DO NOT WANT TO SERVE SALMON. Thank you.

and abhor the "hack" chefs they have on there ie: Rachel Ray and Sandra Lee.

I had to laugh yesterday while I was watching Ina Garten's Barefoot Contessa when in the show she made a comment about how people creating "tablescapes" makes her cringe. She then went on about making a nice simple elegant table and not some friggin expensive display that looks ridiculous.

Anyways, I thought this was funny and a direct shot at Sandra Lee. Did anybody else see it? What do you think?

I want to make my boyfriend a really good chicken dinner. The thing is he is really really picky about what he eats. I'm not a great cook and the only chicken meal I can make is chicken and rice. Not a big deal and he doesn't want to eat that all of the time. Any simple yet good ideas? And please tell me how to cook it because I don't usually cook and have no idea what to do and for how long. thanks!

How do I know when an avocado is ripe enough to smash and make into a spread? The one I have I got yesterday and is sort of soft but not extremly soft. Like you can press on it a little and make like a dent of sort.
