and abhor the "hack" chefs they have on there ie: Rachel Ray and Sandra Lee.
I had to laugh yesterday while I was watching Ina Garten's Barefoot Contessa when in the show she made a comment about how people creating "tablescapes" makes her cringe. She then went on about making a nice simple elegant table and not some friggin expensive display that looks ridiculous.
Anyways, I thought this was funny and a direct shot at Sandra Lee. Did anybody else see it? What do you think?

Blue Sea- No I am not the best cook in the world. However, I appreciate good cooking and I feel that the products those two put out, especially Sandra Lee is an embarassment to real cook/chefs. I think Ina Garten is by far more talented then thesetwo put together.

I saw her bio and I agree she has been through a lot but does she deserve to be on FN? Her food looks nasty and if I bought all of the stuff she says to buy for tablescapes then I wouldn't have a house to put them in. Besides, I have read wher she can be pretty nasty on the set.

Everyone hates Sandra Lee - she's an idiot and her show only appeals to the average10 year-old girl.
Ina Garten is such a classy, elegant woman and it wouldn't surprise me if she was making a poke at SL directly.
I can't even begin to mention how I can't stand Rachel Ray - other than her family's "foodie" background I have no idea how she's pulled it off, her voice makes me cringe and one more "gulp of E.V.O.O. and I'll scream!
Nice to know there's someone else out there who can see the light at the end of the dinner table!!!

Sandra is annoying, she needs to have a separate show to tell her watchers what the heck to do with all that crap when its all over! Racheal Ray is pretty cool most of the time but can get a bit tiresome. I kind of like the fact that food network has some regular people on there because that helps those who may not be so good in the kitchen see that they don't have to be an expert to cook great meals. I did see that episode of Barefoot Contessa and I do agree with her Sandra Lee's tablescapes make me cringe too.

I agree with the person who said this is "entertainment". I too have laughed at Sandra Lee's table scapes and curtains and outfits and dishes to match. But some people might just get an inspiration from some of it. You can maybe take one single idea from a show and try it. It doesn't mean you have to do every thing the way she does. You take from it what you want. The network is I think trying to reach every level of cooking expertise.

My admired is Paula Deen. She is somebody that i know i need to be acquaintances. She's like a family individuals member and touches the lives in a great way of everyone she meets. I additionally love her sons, Jamie and Bobby's new practice, highway Tasted. they are no longer undesirable to look at the two and humorous as heck. i'm helpful the apple did no longer fall to a good distance from that family individuals tree. Ina makes those cheesecake muffins that are out of this international and that i've got made them a super type of cases and have been given to many compliements on them. i think of that Sandra Lee is extra of a Martha Stewart wanna be. Giada would not provoke me one way or yet another and that i've got in no way made something she chefs. I additionally love the practice Ace of brownies and Duff is a scream. i might desire to paintings in that bakery. desire that enables...............

I dislike Rachael and Sandra. However, I admit that at least Rachael is self-taught. Some great cooks are like that. Sandra however is even more annoying! Her only claim to fame is "cooking and entertaining for years". And those tablescapes can go right where the sun don't shine, if you know what I mean. And so can changing the curtains and appliances to match the "theme". ARRRRGH!

I didn't see the show in question but I have seen Lee's show and it is not one of my favorites. It's not because of the tablescapes or anything like that. I just like to cook completely from scratch so for me, that eliminates her show.
However, I do feel there is a market for that type of show for people who are extremely busy.

In defense of Sandra lee, most people in the real world don't make their food from scratch anymore,so any neat tricks I learn from her show,I really appreciate, I really would love to live in tent in Paris for 6 months like that barefooter,y'all believe that? And that Giada, I ain't even ate anythang or ingredient she uses, I bet she don't like stewed coon or fried gator tail either,I do love to watch all them cooking shows when I can, but lets face it, them fish is biting, them deer plots need planting, them field need bushhoging, and them tree stands have to be up graded, a feller just can't sit around and make stuff from scratch Hooray for Sandra Lee and semi-home made.!!

I enjoy the Food Network. I like most of the chefs. Remember this is still for entertainment. I have learned a few things. I've been cooking and baking for more than forty years. Never to late to learn.

i think ina gartners an idiot becuase i have seen her make LOTS of tablescapes. Not as crazy as the one sandra lee makes but definetly a certified tablescape. So i just think ina gartner needs to look at her own past episodes before ripping on others. What would have been funnier is if she had taken a shot at sandra lees obvious alcohol love.
