I can drink caffeine all day in the form of coffee, sweet tea, coke... whatever, yet I don't get the energy or the jitters that everyone else seems to get when they drink half as much as I do. I can wake up, drink a glass of tea, go to work, drink a cup of coffee (or two), go to lunch, drink another glass of tea and I'll still feel sluggish. Am I just immune to caffeine?

I told my mom i'd make dinner tonight for my whole family but now I have no idea what to make. I have two younger brothers who are 4 and 5 so it has to be something that they would like too. I would really appreciate any ideas you might have.
thanks

I am using a recepie from Portugal - for a soup. It consists mainly of vegetables and sea food. The whole thing should cook for about 2 hours - when should I put the shrimp in? Is it ok to cook them for 2 hours?

Name your home area and the food.

In MN it is casserole, noodle and rice dishes that cook for a long time. Pretty bland, but very midwestern. I'm wondering what is the signature dish to you where you live?

I'm looking for some gifts for 2 sisters and remembered that they love the liqueur, but I think 2 whole 750 ml bottles is a bit overkill for them. Is that my only choice or does the company that process Goldschlager carry it in smaller sizes?

Do vegans use any type of medication? I only ask this because all medications are animal tested before release to human consumers. How do you justify Tylenol or chemotherapy?

10 years ago, I never heard of chipolte flavoring...then we had a Dave and Busters come to our area and that is when I discovered the "grilled chicken chipolte salad" (before I became a vegan) and I fell in love with the chipolte dressing and started looking for it...I have loved it for at least 6 years now...anyway, Now I see Chipolte everywhere. How did this happen? And btw...what is the best chipolte dressing on the market right now and where can I buy it?

A cream based soup scorched on the bottom pretty badly. I tried simmering vinegar in it and scrubbing with salt.
Anyone have any other ideas, or is it history?

Does anyone have an idea why we can't use cornstarch in jelly instead of pectin? I mean if you put a certain amount it will also jell as it cools down. Just wondering if anyone has ever tried that.

I was just wondering what part food plays in your life. As a chef (or cook) do you get the real joy from preparing food for others, than for yourself ? Of course I suppose... How do you like preparing food for yourself then? Is it something totally different, you just go and have some sandwitch or hot dog or just some salad, or you prefer going to a restaurant ?

It's because while preparing food for myself at home, I absorb the different smells of the flavours, spices, I get used to seeing the food, experiencing it in my hand, and my brain sort of gets all these messages and I feel full after I only PREPARED my meal. So I don't enjoy eating it anymore with such intensity after I had prepared it MYSELF ! This is something really unfortunate. Is it the case with you too???

P.S. Please indicate whether you are a professional chef or a cook like me. Out of curiousity... :)

What makes your mouth water? Chocolate? Ice Cream? Pie? What hits your sweet tooth? I'm bored right now so I just thought I'd ask. Anyways, answer the question...thank you.

Hi, if anyone can help I would appreciate it. My mother-in-law will not share a receipe with me and I would love to learn how to make it. She calls it, "Callizen" and I am not sure that the spelling is correct so I will describe it. It is a flaky crust with onions, tomatos and cheese on the inside. It is about 1/2" thick and is baked. If anyone can help me with this, I would just love to show her up!

Thanks!!
