I can drink caffeine all day in the form of coffee, sweet tea, coke... whatever, yet I don't get the energy or the jitters that everyone else seems to get when they drink half as much as I do. I can wake up, drink a glass of tea, go to work, drink a cup of coffee (or two), go to lunch, drink another glass of tea and I'll still feel sluggish. Am I just immune to caffeine?

I don't drink it like that EVERY day, just sometimes. But I do have sweet tea or coffee at least once a day. I can have tea or coffee right before bed too, like another answerer said, and it does nothing.

I guess since we are all different things affect us all differently.

Before I switched from Diet Coke to caffeine free Diet Coke I would often take a can of Diet coke to bed, drink it and lay down and go right to sleep, it had no affect on my sleep.

I switched to Caffeine free Diet Coke just to get away from the Caffeine for health reasons (caffeine is hard on the kidneys) I had no "withdrawals"

So to answer you question I don't think it is a matter of being "immune" it just does not affect on some people.

I remember my grandmother would not drink coffee after NOON!
Otherwise she said she could not sleep at night.

It doesn't do anything to me either. I can have a coffee or tea right before bed and still sleep like a log. I don't drink the stuff all day long either so I can't possibly be immune to the caffeine. Sometimes I wish it did especially when I've got things to do. Maybe it'd get me up and going. LOL

Caffeine is a drug. If you take any drug long enough you will grow immune to it. If you don't need it why do you drink it so often? Try not drinking it for 3 days and see what happens. If you start to get headaches drink the caffeine again and then ween yourself off of it.

You have built up a tolerance. It takes a ton of coffee to affect me. I drink at least 6 cups a day. If I go without, I get horrible headaches, nausea, etc. If I want a real jolt, it takes about 4 shots of espresso to do it. Anything less and I don't feel it.

It doesn't bother me either, I can drink coffee right before bed and it has no effect what so ever. We must be immune to it or just used to it.
