Food & Drink - 3 March 2007

Sorting out my cupboards and want to use up things that have been there a while. I also have lots of tins of tomatoes!!! Any ideas both vegie and non vegi would be welcome.

If the recipe, like this one http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Baked-Pork-Spring-Rolls/Detail.aspx, calls for spring roll wrappers, does that imply that you should use rice paper?

I thought that spring roll wrappers were rice based, not egg based.

I made a plain cheesecake last night and after leaving in the fridge the whole night am ready to do the topping. I got some strawberries but was wondering wether to mix it all and swirl it on my cake or cut slices instead? Also if i cut to slices will the fruit keep a nice color if stored for more than 3 days in the fridge or will they turn brown on top of my cake?

I didn't mean to leave it on the counter. I meant to put it in the fridge but forgot. So it was probably out about 20 hours. Is it safe to cook and eat? How can I tell if it is still good?

Micro living organisms are there in almost every edible vegetables, fruits, cereals and water. Even by consuming water, you are also swallowing a large number of micro organisms who go on to enrich your nutrition. Since there is practically no way of weeding off or eliminating micro living organisms before consuming food, we have it. Vegetarians and non-vegetarians differ only by the size of the living organism that they consume. Humans, hence are the same. Wouldn't it be better if we had only divisions of people who promote organised killings of other species (even when they can survive by allowing the other species to enjoy their lives) and those who do eliminate other species, just because they can't avoid it. Isn't it more sensible ?

I watch all these cooking programs on tv and the chef always say it's comfort food at some point in the program. They seem to say it for any dish they create! Also they say it's a simple dish, when it's not simple!..anyway that's another story.

I mean, vegans do not eat products that contain things that come from an animal, I know, but I don't understand. I mean, where do you get the protein and other stuff from? Vegetarians eat at least eggs and they drink milk also.

When my friend showed me this verse in the bible, I knew from that point on that it was meant for us to eat meat. God gave us the animals so that we may have food.

Vegetarians/vegans who try to say it is wrong to eat meat are guilty of blasphemy. The bible warns us about these people and other cult groups which will speak evil.

I know for a fact i didn't get into a fight, but i'll feel sore for like 2 days after drinking heavy. I'll be awake and functional, just feel like i did some intense work out the night before.

I assume its dealing with the dehydration and thats what tends to cause cramps and what not.
