If you eat too much of anything, it will make you fat. Honey is comprised mostly of sugar which is high in calories. If you consume more calories than you burn off, then it will accumulate as fat in your body.

Hi,
honey is a natrual food and very much better for you than refined sugar. However, it does contain the (dreaded) carbohydrates and if you eat enough you could certainly gain weight.
The relative sweetness of honey is higher than that of refined sugar, so if you maintained the same sweetness level and used honey you could actually LOSE weight (How good is that?) because you would need to use less.
I think the answer is to avoid excesses of any type of food, including honey. If you had one candy bar (though you may feel the inches growing in your mind) you would be unlikely to gain any weight, but if you have several every day you KNOW what would happen!
Changing sugar consumption for honey consumption would be a positive change, I feel, that any nutritionist would endorse. Just don't eat too much.
Good luck with your weight, and don't waste too much of your life worrying about it. A healthy diet and moderate excercise does work wonders.

if you don't burn the sugar yes, but the good side is if its good quality original virgin honey the sugar is not as bad as the artificial one, in fact it's proved to be a cure for many diseases & ilnases.
but stay away from that supermarket stuff, the actuall hony probably accounts for only 20% of the whole jar ! you can get the real stuff from the country side & if you store it in a cool dry place, it should last you for months & more.
now the trick is the higher the hives are (mountain area), the thiner & lighter the hony is, and if you go for canyon hony, thats thiker & darker... but the sweetness is almost the same

It depends on what you mix with honey and eat. Honey mainly contains Iron. Be carefull if you accidently drop honey on to your head your hair turns white in colour. That means you look like old.

dear! I think it depens how much you eat. you must calculate the calorie amont of it. for example 100 gr of it has 300cal in it or
1 table spoon has 50cal. in a healthy diet plan you can use 1ts honey in your breakfast and still losing weight, besides you can benefit from it and it makes you more energitic.
good luck

It has calories and carbohydrates....same as bread and cheese... so enough of it will give you a weight gain...but it would take quite a lot, and at it's current price, most couldn't afford that much.
