"I give you the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground--everything that has the breath of life in it.They will be food for you. And it was so" (Genesis).
When my friend showed me this verse in the bible, I knew from that point on that it was meant for us to eat meat. God gave us the animals so that we may have food.
Vegetarians/vegans who try to say it is wrong to eat meat are guilty of blasphemy. The bible warns us about these people and other cult groups which will speak evil.

chachaCHA, your reply of "OMG, can I KILL YOU!? you are so ignorant and stupid, you make me so ANGRY, you must die, DIE NOW!" has been reported to Yahoo.
I am currently speaking with an online watchdog group regarding your threat. We are trying to determine if will qualify as a death threat. If it does, they may be contacting you regarding this very serious matter.

If you want to quote scripture - at least do it accurately.
Gen 1:28 And God blessed them; and God said unto them: 'Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that creepeth upon the earth.'
Gen 1:29 And God said: 'Behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed - to you it shall be for food;
Gen 1:30 and to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is a living soul, I have given every green herb for food.' And it was so. (Jewish Publication Society translation)
The very FIRST THING God gives is herbs and plants, fruits.
If you actually READ this portion of scripture, you will see that any "living soul" God gave "every green herb for food".
No mention of meat eaten within scripture till after the flood.
I am not even a vegetarian - except at times that I feel the need to forgo meat and then only for a time and know this.
Like I said, if your going to quote scripture - at least do it accurately.

The main reason that vegetarians and vegans don't eat animal products is because of animal rights, not becuase they think is a sin. The book of Genesis was written thousands of years ago, and things have changed a little bit since then. The quality of the meat is terrible, and it has been proven to have antibiotics and thousands of types of bacteria, back then none of that existed.
God is also against violence, and the way animals are treated is considered violence. Because of what I read I suppose that you are against body piercing or wearing a t shirt made with two different kinds of fabric; the Bible says that in Leviticus.

No God doesn't eat meat-Gods don't need to eat-that is one of the bonuses of being immortal.
So you base all you do on the bible-so you also believe in stoning gays and people who cheat on their spouses and beating kids. You are a nice man then...not.
Most vegetarians and vegans don't eat that diet because of religion but because of health and animal welfare concerns. And you should not assume the every vegetarian and vegan on yahoo answers worships the Abrahamic God.I don't and my religion states that animal life is worth as much as a humans so eating meat is not encouraged if you can avoid it for me.
Seriously foxie why do you hate vegetarians and vegans so much?

What Verse are you talking about?
The ones in my bible Genesis: Chapter 1 verse 21 I have created whales and of every living kind
that moveth even of thy water and winged fowl after it's kind for thee to protect.
Chapter 1 verse 29
I have given ye herbs and fruits bearing seed let thy be thy meat.
Meat is not right to eat! I note U didn't quote any verse accurately. U only said a lie about the bible unless your bible is different than mine then yours is wrong! I haven't found any place in the bible that gives one permission to eat meat except when one is starving in the time of Noah and there's nothing else to eat! Back then in time of Noah people disobeyed Gpd on the arc and ate more than they were alloted per day. Noah was a vegetarian and frowned on eating meat. There were a few that betrayed Noah and killed the Unicorn and ate it! You're the one that's quilty of blasphemy! You are the Evil trying to beguile us vegetarians! Only a fool heeds your lies! You be nasty to vegetarians you dare hint at them speak evil.
Vegetarians are not cult groups. It's much more like cult groups are meat eaters! Oh by the Way
I am a Pastor Of the Unitarian Unversalist Fellowship! I know what I'm talking about! I could say more but a tv program I like is coming on thats called Are U Smarter Than a 5th Grader?

If you mean does the infinite eat meat, I don't know. As to your friend, and your family mentioned in previous questions, I don't believe you have either. Who'd want to know you? As to your incessant threats of "online watchdog", you are just a small time bullshitter & believe me I've met some big ones. You don't even get a rating!
I don't believe you hunt, you're probably too frightened of falling off the horse or getting bitten by a fox. Behind every bully there hides a coward.
Even Yahoo will eventually recognise a troll, so bye bye, I think I heard mummy coming up the stairs to put the light out...

LOL everybody knows that was in the made up bit of the bible.People like you misinterpret it all the time. It actually says that you can (i.e. if you really want to) but not 'thou shalt' FYI God said 'Go away and I never eat the stuff!!!!' neither does Santa, the tooth fairy, mother goose, the stork or Snow white .

I'm a Christian and also vegetarian. I found it slightly amusing when someone told me that the Bible says nothing against eating meat. For me it's not a religious decision, but simply for health reasons: that of my own, the planet, and the animals. And maybe God also hates seeing animals suffering, planet earth being ruined and people messing up their own health eating too much protein and animal fats!

You seem to have an unhealthy fascination with trying to make out vegetarians/vegans are evil, judging from all your questions in this category. Do you consider it is your goal in life to rid the earth from vegetarians? Or do you simply not have anything better do to with your time?
I am a vegetarian because I do not like the taste of meat - ever considered that? I had never considered myself to part of a cult group before. I am honoured. Suppose someone doesn't like the taste of mushrooms - does that mean they are inherently evil and betraying god? Are they part of the Mushroom Cult?Do you eat ants? According to the verse you supplied, you should be. Wouldn't want to betray God now would you?

It also says
"it is good neither to eat meat nor drink wine nor do anything which your brother stumbles upon or is offended or is made weak."
and also
"Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All things are indeed pure, but it is evil for the man who eats with offense."

Urm the vegies and vegans aren't being religious about their objection to meat, it's more like they are objecting to the factory farming ways we raise meat for food these days.
To be honest I aint happy about facotry farming as it harms, us meat eaters, the poor farmer who is getting squeezed by the supermarkets and is forced to intensively farm animals and the poor animals themselves. Therefore I ensure that I get my meat products from ethical sources, it's a bit hard to do but worth the effort and peace of mind.
Or the vegies and vegans just object to the killing of another living being - perfectly understandable
Live and let live I say, diversity is what makes us all great.
