Ok, so oatmeal's REALLY good for you, right? How about farina (cream of wheat)? I like oatmeal, but I prefer farina. What's health score on this stuff? Is it as good for you as oatmeal?

The basic buttercream came out harder, and sweeter, than I was hoping for.

Any foolproof recipes?

Any tips re. "you want these ingredients," "don't use too much of X," etc? Light and creamy is what I'm going for, not sugary and hard.

-The ends are held together by a tooth pick so they will stay held together.

Recently i left China to come to America and begin the adventure of lifetime. Sure i am having a great time looking at things and all ,and i went walking too, that was good, but then i was hungry so i went to get a hot dog, i was delighted to find that, indeed the sausage was hot but it was not made from dog, any type of dog :( . My question is.... why is this sausage called a "hot dog" when it it not made from any known species of dog ?

I would like some good easy recipes for tastey dinners. It seems like we have spaghetti, burritos/enchiladas/tacos and then stirfry..and then start over again. I would like some new things to mix it up a little. Please no recipes with seafood or a lot of onions. Also there will be a toddler eating this dinner so either nonspicy ..or spice on the side would be good. Thanks!

ooooh please don't give me a www.... answer..just recipes your family likes please

(we do have a crockpot)

Does anyone have a really good recipe handed down like from generation to generation that is sooo good. Also if you know how to make green rice. Or enchiladas...really good. Any great seasoning ideas for both. Thanks oh and please don't send me to sites where I can find them myself..I want them from people who actually have tried their own recipes.

The wedding and reception is at a venue with a full (pay) bar, and sells pizza and chicken wings, etc. I am providing a sushi platter, grape leaf rolls, mini quishes, maybe a gumbo or something in a crock pot? along with wedding cake and I would like to provide champagne. I'm not sure how much I should bring per person. I have 52 rsvp's as of right now. Thanks for any help.

They say your supposed to take the chicken and put it between wax paper and thin it out like that? What the heck is wax paper and where do I get it from? Is there a difference between that and just thinning it out on the table? Someone told me I can take Saran wrap, and thin it in there?

My potatoes been laying in my cubboard for a while. They started growing white "things" on the skins? Are they still OK to eat or should I throw them away? How do I get mashed potatoes whipped and so soft without using an electrical machine and just using a fork?

Hey, I am attending a party this weekend. The theme is a post-Valentine's Day party with a red motif. Everyone was asked to dress in red, etc.
I was planning to take Cherry Jello shots to this party & was wondering-how to make them? Don't laugh, I want to know if you use the alcohol instead of water or do you add it after you make the Jello-just before you chill it. (I do have the little cups to pour it in).
And, what alcohol would "mix" best with Cherry flavor Jello?
