This is for real, I've spent my life hunting and fishing and traveling the world. If it was offered, and my host ate it, so did I.

Ive traveled to Hong Kong, Japan, China, Korea, Mexico, the Bermudas, more islands, and our own Hawaiian Islands, with true Hawaiians. I've tried many things I tried because I was in their land, and wanted to taste everything I figure I could not find in CA! However, I still think that the rattlesnake that I fried in garlic and a little bit of olive oil was the most INTERESTING to me.
The truth is: In our house, I have a rule. If you shoot it, you eat it! So, hunter son went hunting, and while hunting, he heard this rattler rattling! He turned JUST in time to not be bitten, and shot the snake. He brought it home, cleaned it, and asked me if I could figure the best way to cook it. I just figured how I would have eaten it out in the OLD WEST, and came up with that way of cooking it, in an iron skillet. I'll never forget that event in the rearing of my sons. We all ate the snake. That was the rule. By the way, it tasted like anorexic chicken!

Muskrat (some rat looking thing that lives in the water near here in VA and some other places, but I dont think it has a tail) when I was a kid. Only because it was given to me, but nowadays I wouldnt eat it if I had a choice. I can actually taste it and smell it and feel the texture when I think of it.

A boiled sparrow, my husband's parents were in a concentration camp and would make slingshots to shoot sparrows down to cook, so my husband and I tried the same thing to see what they tasted like.

Not much meat of the bone, tasted like chicken.

Turkey testicles. It was a yearly event in the midwest town I used to live in. Turkey Fry. They're breaded and deep fried. Surprisingly good...and expectedly salty. They were served with coleslaw and Texas toast.
