what is that ring of black stuff in the center of brown rice after I cook it?

Rice is the centre of the stalk, the black stuff is probably minerals from the soil.

Wash your pan!! just kidding!! Brown rice is high in fiber that may be it but try rinsing your rice 3 or 4 times than cook goodluck!!

There should not be a ring of black stuff. Are you rinsing the rice? Did you burn the bottom?

when need to wash your rice better. Or cook it in a different pot then the one you are using.
