Food & Drink - 3 February 2007

OK, I just got my first job and I am trying to develop a monthly household budget. I am quite a good cook, but I am a little unsure of how much per month I will need to budget for food.

I will most likely eat a light breakfast at home each day, and a pretty decent dinner each night. Lunch will most likely be a sandwich taken with me, or perhaps leftovers. Any lunches eaten out will come from a different piece of the budget. And of course, on the weekends I would want to budget for all meals at home, and will budget elsewhere for any meals out.

Right now I have the number set at $250 per month, so around 60+ dollars a week, do you think that is anywhere close???

If so what is the punishment? And who wouldnt do a little time to get some of that sweet sweet egg.
I tried some on a vacation outside the US and havent been able to stop thinking about them.

I know you can't use metal on teflon, but anodized aluminum is a surface treatment and not a coating. We are having a party with 12 kids at a local kids activity center. The party is going to be from 11a-1p. The kids will doing activities for an hour and a half and have the party for the other 30 mins. Should I have sandwiches or snacks for the parents and kids in addition to the cake? Since we don't have much time to each and open presents I am torn between providing food and not. If I should provide more than just cake what should I provide? Something that does not require heating up, because they don't have any kitchen facilities at the activity center.
