I want to enter the chili contest at bigchiliidea.com. The grand prize is $5,000. So anyone have a great chili recipe I could try -- any suggestions? What are my odds?

well o.k so the parents dont have any money well they do but its on a tight budget and i need to plan a easy simple and its for kids 14 and UP so the theme cant be like disney(the main girl is a lil not into that shes willing to mess around with like thomas the train and umm stuff like 80's and stuff) and shes a vegetarian and everyone eles isnt mybe 1 person or so..and she has a alot of friends and family maybe 15 or more people like 10 25 its a small living room and no yard its in march but i need ideas now

I'm making a chocolate meringue pie and I'm working on the filling but it wont thicken. I'm not really sure how long i should keep trying to cook it. Its cooked on a double boiler.The recipe I have is crap and it doesn't say anything about how long its supposed to cook. Anyone know why or how to make it thicker?

For example, I have some salsa in front of me right now that has Basil and oregano listed as ingredients! I know someone who adds brown sugar to an otherwise non-sweet salsa. I don't get it! Anyone noticed weird ingredients in salsa (I'm not talking about the specialty salsas like mango or peach salsa, just regular tomato salsa)? Anyone know why this happens to an innocent batch of salsa? Why do so many leave cilantro and lime out?

Would those be dry mustards, like a spice, or mustard I would buy in a jar.

Sometimes I like to put them in my cereal in the morning. I love the way they squish around in my mouth with the cereal and milk.

I have this thermos that i've been using for almost a year now with a french press attachment and I've been mainly using it for tea. Just recently I've noticed a slight orange rusty color on the french press filter and around the inside of the thermos. I don't know if it sould be the tea stains or rust. If it is rust, is it still safe to drink from the thermos or should i just throw it out? Please list any sources.

a cake. You slice it and eat it with bread. I think it is made of apples. It is very sweet and delicious. The color is sort of reddish-brown and the consistency is a bit like pate'.
