I am trying to ease into fish and have been trying a bit at a time. Can someone reccomend a really light fish that is easy to prepare at home and that won't have that fishy taste?

Try Swordfish, It tends to taste more like pork, but it's not hard to cook at all. Usually better when grilled. If cooked right, the meat should just flake off onto your fork and it tastes great. Get a nice piece, cut to about 3/4 an inch and grill it, (or through it in a frying pan) and add some lemon for taste and some Thyme seasoning. I don't do lemon, but that takes away the fishy taste. Trust me, non fish eaters love Swordfish!!

There are 2 types of fish that I have found that I think will please you. First is Orange Roughy - its a light flesh colored fish with a firm texture. When purchased, there should be no fishy scent to it. Second is Chilean Sea-Bass - also a light flesh colored fish with a semi-firm almost buttery taste.

Easiest cooking - coat both sides with olive oil, season both sides of the fish with salt, pepper and a sprinkle of dill or parsley. Place on a baking sheet, bake in 375 degree oven for 8-10 minutes or until semi-firm to the touch. Remove immediately, squeeze lemon juice over top and serve hot.

Mahi-Mahi has a very firm white flesh and if it is fresh it does not smell or taste fishy. Also, try this very simple marinade and grill or broil:
1/2 c soy sauce
1/4 c. honey
1 t. dry mustard
1 clove garlic
MArinate for about 20 minutes (no longer, or it will start to "cook" the fish) It really covers up the fish taste.

Barramundi is a light buttery fish that doesn't have a very fishy taste.

Buy fillets and simply pan fry them in butter and olive oil.

Curry is the UK's favourite dish, start out with a chicken Korma - it's the mildest one then build up to the hotter curries. Other traditional UK dishes are stews, soups and pies. Each region has its own specialty; you need to try a Cornish pasty from Cornwall - unforgettable. But we are famous for our puddings, cakes and desserts. Steamed treacle pudding with custard on a cold day - nothing like it.

Definitely try halibut. Not only is the flavor very mild, but it has a nice firm texture too. I only like fish that tastes like chicken and halibut is my favorite fish!

Tilapia! "This tastes like fish," i always say when I eat it.

Canned chicken tastes like canned tuna, but I guess that isn't really what you are looking for.

Soo nice! Its creamy, sweet and delicious! Id reccomend it! :) its got chicken (obvously), sultanas, potatoes, peppers and onions in, with a creamy, slightly spicy sauce. Have it on white/brown rice, with naan bread, and mango chutney sauce... Its georgeous. :P & how about Fish and chips with mushy peas- homemade style? Or sausage casserole with mash and brocolli? ooh!- or a roast dinner with everything on! Meat, veg, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, yorkshire pudding, and a nice thick gravy. All washed down with a cup of tea. :) mhmm.. Im hungry! Ha :P x
