this is my first thanksgiving this is the only thang i don't know how to do...how long do you have to bake a 17 lbs. turkey

While we were partying on Hollywood Blvd in LA (Highlands Club), there were these hot dog/corn carts outside that had the BEST hot dogs wrapped in bacon, grilled and then topped with green peppers, onions and mayonnaise... but then. there was this CORN that had some mayonnaise on it as well! Can anyone think of a recipe for this? And please don't say grill corn and mayonnaise unless that is really it! Thanks!

I'm looking for an original fool proof recipe for Boston Cream pie. I know I can find many recipes online however I was hoping someone here might have a recipe that they have used many times that is really yummy. Im definetly looking for a recipe where the chocolate on top sticks to the pie and doesnt run all over the place . I want my pie to look pretty ;o)

My boyfriend is Guatamalan and Puerto Rican, and I've been invited to Thanksgiving at his house.

My boyfriend told me about how everyone would bring over meals to whomever's house the Thanksgiving is at... and, since I'm going...

I am hosting my first thanksgiving and have a few questions.
1) What are some good shortcuts to stuffing. I have seen people add things like onion and celery to stove top to make it like home made, but what do I add and how much?

2) How many people will a 14 lb turkey feed and is it supposed to cook 1hour for every 4lbs?

I dont have time to make up some homemade chicken soup...but is there any good tinned/packet ones i can buy from the store that will still help??

I have a 6.5 qt Toastess slow cooker, I have made a Hungarian Goulash and an African Boboti (with ground beef). Both recipes didn't call for any liquid, yet both came out bone dry and slightly burnt when I cooked it on the low setting. Am I supposed to add liquid even when the recipe doesn't call for it? How much liquid?

I never opened a bottle of wine before tonight! But dislodging the cork from the corkscrew is killing me, what is the proper method, do you just pull until it gives way? It's pretty firmly wedged on, but I don't want to break the screw or ruin the cork in the process of trying to remove it.
