Should I leave it on my counter or put it in my refrigerator until Thursday? I don't want it to get hard. Thanks for the advice!

If you can find room for it, put it in the freezer, then, Thanksgiving morning, take it out. The grocery store bakery keeps most of their cakes in the freezer, and it really keeps them fresh.

I say leave it in the freezer then put it in the fridge on Wed night. If still frozen in the am put it on the counter until defrosted. Then back in fridge. Cakes stay fresher if frozen. You can ask the baker at the store your buying it from too.

I'd keep it in the fridge. It won't get hard. Just take it out an hour or two before it's needed.

Keep it on the counter. That's where the bakery would keep it.
