Weddings - January 2007

A friend and i are doing wedding photos and this is our first year doing it together.She did some back home and i did a few but just for friends.Do u think us charging people$900 for 300-360 shots all day cover is alot.? we do have add ons to for fancey thing and more photos if they want more but we rally don't want to take less photos b/c we want to keep snapping during the day.. do u think that is good or no?

I would like to make my invitations a little more creative versus getting addresses printed. Has anyone ever learned calligraphy or some other form of creative handwriting that would be beneficial? Suggestions?

I am getting married in May.
I have a step Dad who is very close to me - I am 24 and he is 38 - so not much of an age difference.
He has looked after me since I was 8 - we are more like mates than step son and dad.
I have always been close to my dad and he had me every weekend as a kid and I see him more and more now I have grown up - going to the football, playing golf etc and we are really close too.

As I say, I'm getting married and need a best man.
My step dad is hinting as we are so close it could be him if I want.

It is a good idea as we are so close but at the same time my dad would be completely gutted if I did that.

What should I do??
My step dad obviously wants to be it.

Should I ask him and break my dads heart?
Or not and break my step dads?

I have a close friend who could do it but again, would my step dad be gutted I didn't choose him?

HELP needed!!!!

Any statistics or experience about what percentage of people invited to a wedding actually attend? There are many people I would like to invite but can only afford to have around 100 guests. I'm afraid to send too many or too little invitations to meet that goal, because you never know who will be able to attend or not.

I just got engaged and in my eagerness to start planning ended up registering at a bunch of different wedding planning sites...now people wont stop calling me! A lady called me the other night and said that I won an all-inclusive trip to Mexico and that I only have to pay air fare. She said there was no catch, but that I would have to go to a 90 minute presentation to hear the pitch about the products her company sells at a hotel downtown on Saturday. Should I go?

Is there an order the ceremony goes in? I have been to so many weddings and tons of people play songs during the ceremony and some people sing. Is there a proper etiquette book somewhere that will tell me the order in which to go in? I am also kinda going with southern traditions mixed with modern twist.

I’ve been dating my bf for a year and living with him for 7 months. We are both in our 30s. We both love each other very much. We talk about marriage all the time. He told me in Nov that money was tight but he should be able to get the ring in a couple of months and ever since then he’s been torturing me about getting engage. He's showed me an ad of a ring to see if I liked it. He's taped shows where the couples get engaged and had me watch it with him. He sings the wedding song. He ask me what happens after we get engaged. He was asking me questions about registering. I just feel like he's having more fun torturing me then anything else. He's always asking me to marry him, but more in a conversation, I always reply, you don't mean it, you have to be on your hands and knees. How do you know if he's going to propose soon. I can't take much more of the torture.

We just had a wedding in our family (my husbands side) where my daughter was the flower girl, my other daughter was a jr bridesmaid, and my husband was a groomsman. Plus the trip, the whole thing cost us a lot of money. Another cousin (on my side of the family) is getting married and asked me to be a bridesmaid, my daughter to be the flower girl, my son to be the ring berrer, and oldest daughter to be a jr bridesmaid. I told her I could not afford all of that, but I would love to be there for her. Then I thought of the dress I have for my youngest.
Would it be tacky or inappropriate to reuse the flower girl dress for the second wedding and let my daughter participate?
Something else to consider, the brides family of the first wedding bought the flower girl dress. It was very expensive and they knew we were already out a lot of money.
Please help!
