whatever colors you like! they don't have to be any certain color at a particular time of the year...just think of your favorite colors and go with that.

December is a great time of year for a Christmas Themed wedding because there are lots of things available. As someone mentioned, the church will already be decorated somewhat. Most people will not have put up their trees yet, so you could borrow lots of faux trees, or even buy real ones that time of year, and decorate them with white lights for a very elegant backdrop for the ceremony and/or reception.
There are lots of different ways and items that can be used - check out this list of Christmas Words to some ideas:

First things first...stay away from the winter wonderland/red and green theme. It is over done and you're better than that!!
My advice would be to invest in a color wheel...I know, I know; sounds like an art project gone wrong, right?? Well, a color wheel will actually be able to help a TON!! Your can pick one color you like and go from there...picking 2, 3, 4 or even 5 colors that go really well together. This can be done with minimal effort and can be a lot of fun.

Wonderful! I did a fall wedding, but after seeing all the christmas decorations in the stores I would have loved to do a Christmas wedding too! How about a really pretty red? Or maybe have a black and white theme with beautiful red flowers and decorations to make everything really POP! Your dress could be white(if you are traditional) and you could carry some really beautiful red roses (or flower of your choice) and your Bmaids could be in a simple black dress with either white or red a mix of both colors for the flowers. The men of course will be in a Tux (black and white) and you can ask your guests to join the theme and come in only Black or white to the wedding. All the decorations can be in basic black and white with some really beautiful Red and maybe some gold.... it would be really simple and really beautiful! Have fun and Good Luck!

If you're looking for some ideas.....
You could try to do a winter wonderland type of theme for your wedding and use the colors of light blue and silver. Wedding favors could be little ornaments or something like that.
Look on theknot.com and see what types of flowers are for December and see what colors they are and if you like any of those colors use them. the flowers will be cheaper because they're in season.
Really... use any theme or colors that you like. Believe me, you'll enjoy the wedding pictures more!
I was married this past October 28th, and I used red, black, and white for my predominant colors and didn't go with a full on theme. I had red and white roses for my flowers, girls wore red dresses and had white flowers and I had red flowers. Linens were black, and I had mini wine bottles as favors with red and black personalized labels on them. Red and black are my two favorite colors so I used them...and I love the way it looks in my pictures!
Happy planning and I hope your day is everything you hope for!

I wanted to get married in December and have a winter wonderland kind of theme. I was going to use blues and silvers. I was going to have all my bridesmaids get the same dress style in all different shades of blue. I was going to have snowflake Christmas ornaments as a favor. You could use white lights and snowflake decorations at the reception. I'm getting married in September instead now, haha! I had to change that whole scheme!! :) Good luck to you!

I think the most beautiful wedding I've ever been to was in December. The church had white poinsettias and roses at the altar. There were six bridesmaids. The matron of honor was in a dark gold gown. The maid of honor was in a slightly softer color of gold. The next bridesmaid was in a slightly softer color of gold... and so on down to the last one, who was in a champagne colored gown. The contrasts were stunning. Everything was very seasonal. I know that is hard to visualize, but it was very unique and refreshing.... not the same old black.

The church won't be decorated for Christmas on the 1st, and it's a few weeks away - so choose a winter theme. You could choose Royal Blue and White, cool and crisp, and I don't know a soul who doesn't look good in blue.

My favorite color is green, different shades of green, so i picked light green dresses for my St. Patrick's day wedding and I ended up getting married Christmas Eve so my dying mother could be there. So the color still worked out.

I would do a dark green. my mom and dad had a november wedding and did green and it was beautiful. you can add white or cream or ivory to it too. I would do a woodsy theme. pine cones and pine tree trimmings. its nice and not too christmas, but still tying in the season. congrats and good luck!
oh...if you really want to stay away from christmas then I would say a dark blue and silver. very wintery and gorgeous together. then do lots of silver candles and shimmers centre pieces.
