I am looking for a wedding photographer in the Tulsa, OK area.
I have a low budget, so I need someone who is great but not too expensive. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm looking for a professional photographer. It is also important that the negatives are released.

I understand that what your asking is not what the people before me are answering. Your not an idiot you know that hiring someone for a couple hundred wouldn't be worth it, you want names of photographers not their opinion on how much YOU should spend. Since I live in WA I can't give you names, but I can give you a website to look at. Theknot.com is awesome and you can type in where you live and they will bring up a list of photographers with links to their site as well so you can look at their shots and prices. Also since I live in WA I'm not sure what a good deal is so try theknot, and see what they have. Good luck and Congrats!!!

A bit of advice--don't go with the cheapest photographer you can find. Don't disqualify someone as a potential photographer because you don't like their rates. Ask to see their portfolio or sample shots, so you have an idea what you're in for. In 20 years when the wedding is a distant memory and all you have to remember it by are the photographs, you'll be thanking yourself that you spent the extra money on hiring a skilled and reputable photographer.

Look through the phone book and call up places around town. Compare prices and packages that they offer in order to find something that will suit your needs and budget. Perhaps go to their studio and see samples of photographs they have taken in the past.

Find photo students at the local college--most would be happy for the experience and the samples for their portfolios (of course you would still have to pay for film and developing)

try the local college and see if there a photography student close to graduation.....you get cheap photos and help a student build their portfolio
edit: see if they already have a portfolio or ask them if they can take some samples pictures for you to see...that way you can see the quality of pictures they take
