Last year my in-laws, whom I thought I got along with, started issuing invitations (Bday parties, Christmas) to my husband that specifically excluded me & my children (we both have children from previous relationships)—and he not only accepted some of those invites, he lied to me about a couple of them. The most recent invite/snub came with the news that my husbands ex would be there—and that she had also been at a few of these other family gatherings I wasn’t welcome at. (She is one of those downs that we went through) I put my foot down and told my husband to choose: Take me with you or don’t go.
He chose not to go, but is extremely upset that I issued an ultimatum and doesn't think that I am being fair. This is causing MAJOR problems in our marriage and has been since it started. Was I wrong?
(when my family attempted to do this to him a few years back I ever so eloquently told them to go pound sand)

My husband and I grew up very differently. I grew up in the city in a single parent home eating mostly cereal, sandwiches and frozen dinners. My dad did not cook. My husband grew up on a farm with his grandparents which cooked large meals at the same time every night. All of there meals were from scratch.

Most of the things that he likes, I have never even heard of. I have tried to cook from recipes, but every time I do he says I ruin it. We have been married for 2 years now and this is getting old. Some advise would be appreciated.

what does it mean when a guy says "I'm secure in my marriage" yet he wants to have an affair? To me that is really low and degrading. I got into a argument with a married guy who said that. I told him what he is thinking and wanting to do is so wrong and his wife needs to know that. He apparently cheats on her ALL the time. Is his wife that dumb not to notice all the signs....he brags about it and all and is obvious not to mention a low life scum bag. I feel sorry for his wife.

...and found a guy worthy of her company - he's got money, homes, cars - great (boring) job - pays well though, and she shows herself bright and cheery around him - but at home she is anything but that according to my son - and she is THE exact opposite with me i.e. vicious, disrespectful, revengeful, vindictive, abusive, neglecting, forgetful, I don't give a shi^" attitude, uncaring, the world revolves around her (VERY narcisstic) - with all the thinigs to look forward to with her new guy, WHY is she acting so unhappy and trying make me her whipping pole and being abusive to our son? Has she not let go, moved on yet even though she has someone else? I woud think with all she has going for her, she would be happy and act happy. There was no domestic violence, no cheating (on my part) I have loved her beyond the mistreatment I was subjected to for years, there was no abuse (on my part - really and I am a guy - sorry ladies). So why, as she purports to care so much for our son,

My boyfriend and I have been together for a little over 10 months and we are going to Greece for 2 1/2 weeks.

Everyone keeps telling us "if you make it through this, you'll be together forever" sort of thing. I feel like this is putting pressure on me and making me nervous. I don't want to think of this trip as a test of whether or not we are "meant to be". I am really happy and excited to go but anxious, too!

Has anyone been here before? Any suggestions/advice? Obviously, I am going to do my best to relax, enjoy and have a great time (that's probably the best advice I can give myself). :)

My gf and I are going to have a baby and I love her and want to be with her and we are going to move in together. But I hate having marriage pressured on me as she wants marriage before birth and I will probably go through with it but hate the pressure of steadily being asked. Her mom is also a big influence in her life and I am independent and want to make my own decisions together with her. Her mom is telling her that we need to move faster than we are and we dont have the money to start things together and I disagree. Her mom is also trying to tell her how we should do things and saying we should buy a house when I dont want to right now. I want to start first with an apartment. Her mom wants to give us all sorts of free stuff and furniture but I dont want her to be able to use that to control us saying "Well I helped you out with this so you should do this for me". I have sat down and done my own budgeting and my own planning that I share with my gf.

My husband and I are having a lot of problems and are talking about seperating. We have a 2 year old daughter together and another little girl on the way due in September. He is not on my daughter's birth certificate because at the time she was born he didn't want to be a part of her life and we weren't married at the time. If we'd get seperated could I still get child support from him without him being on her birth certificate? Also, what percent of the father's income is taken out for child support? He makes about $45,000 a year. Any idea how much I'd get for two children? I'm so worried about having to raise two children on my own so every little bit counts! Thank you for your help.

Our son is 10 months old and my wife says she feels very detached from me. I am a really good husband/dad. She has a busier schedule than I do, so I clean the house and take care of my son a lot. I also try to do nice things for her like buy her flowers and try to make her feel important, but she doesn't want to hold hands or be affectionate. She says after the pregnancy, she has lost most of her feelings for me. She is struggling with these emotions too and doesn't know why she feels them. We are both struggling with this and don't know what to do. Is this common, I hope???

I'm American and my hasband is from Greece we decided to move back to USA .
My hasband has a good payed job and I have part time job, his salary is 1600$ and mine 400$ monthly, our rent here is 600$ monthly and our food expences are 450$.
The base sallary in Greece is for 10-12 hours work per day and without having the right to have any break at all is
600-700$ monthly.
Obvously we can not afford to buy a house witch will cost us 200.000 $ or a new car costing 15.000$ or having any children considering that the goverment does not help at all.
Our dream will be to buy an appartment , having 1 or2 children and managing all familly costs by a full time job for my hasband and a part time job for me.
How high sould be each of our salaries to live an ordinary life without having wories how to pay at the and of the month: electricity, heat, food?
By the way our last electricity bill was
( for four months 1450$ !!!!!!! )
and we rent an 900 square feet appartment.

Before hubby and I were married he told me he was "Not deployable" for the USAF, now we have been married little under a year, and he's signing up for deployment (without telling me; I stumbled upon this information when he left it mistakenly on our desk top). To me this is about the equivilent of an affair...what should I do? I know he realllly wants to go, but he told me before we were married that it would never happen. I'm usually pretty easy about letting him do what he wants, but this is one area I'd really like to draw the line. I mostly worry for our baby, because I grew up without a dad who was active in my life. I know the effects it has on kids, my husband does not. What would you do?

I hear and read comments to the effect that money doesn't affect happiness. I just pretend that who ever made such a remark made it based on either some kind of happiness, or is limiting the scope of happiness to a certain philosophy/standard of some type.

To me, money does affect happiness. Therefore, money, just like education, or a complete healthy physical body, or any great asset we can obtain to enrich our lives, can bring happiness. So, who is it that says money can't bring happiness? What are they really saying in, obviously, not enough words?

Recently I read a statement that seems to me to be reasonable, explaining why "researchers" think some married couples stay together more than others. It said, "Families with two earners with good jobs have seen an improvement in their standard of living, which leads to less tension at home and lower probability of divorce."

Every once in a while you read in the media about how Hollywood women let their guys wear their panties on occasion. I've heard that its since become a bit more acceptable for women to get their hubby/bf to do this once in a while as a fun way to spice things up a bit. I'm pretty open minded about it and I was thinking of asking my hubby to give it a try, but I wanted to get some feedback from some of the other women out there on this first about it and to get some ideas on how I can go about asking him to give it a try.

I've known some women who complained that their husbands didn't want to have sex enough for them. This is contrary to everything we normally hear, which is that the men are begging for it, and the women have "headaches."

How prevalent is it for the roles to be reversed?

My husband tells me he loves me all the time and he expects me to answer with the same...I dont love him and he knows it. Im not being mean but he caused trouble in this relationship which has rendered my feelings null and void towards him, I say it but we both know I dont mean it...should I keep saying it back just to humor him?

I am not reall asking why or why not you oppose it but if you DO oppose gay marriage....do you oppose divorce? If so do you think that should be voted into the Constitution too? If you are not against divorce, but against gay marriage please explain why.
