Marriage & Divorce - 24 June 2006

My friend is divorced. she has a 5 years old daughter.Her husband remarried and left the country for employment and to permanently reside elsewhere. His new wife lives here and might leave the country next year.
My friend's ex-husband wants the sole custody of the child, with primary residence with my friend. My friend has provided a stable life to the child ever since they divorced.

Will custody be granted to him?
His new wife who is still here keeps calling often and bothers my friend. She wants access to my friend's child as she is pregnant and wants her future baby to have some relationship with my friend;s daughter as they will be stepchildren. She is asking for access on behalf of her husband (my friend's ex)who is living abroad.
Can such access to step parent be given?

My husband attended a stag do at a strip club recently. I had no problem with that, fine look at the menu but eat at home I say. 2 weeks AFTER that night he tells me he forked out for a private strip in a private cubicle (though he moans when I spend on riff raff) and to add insult to injury, sighs and says he wishes I could dance like that!! (which I do try maybe I'm not dirty enough, who knows but it is besides the point). Its been months now, and I really don't feel I can ever trust him, if I had the money and we didn't have kids I would have left for SURE - for a married man to do that is unforgiveable, I don't care if he didn't actually touch her he was obviously lusting after the girl in my eyes - he can't understand why I have a problem with it. Possibly I'm being ridiculous, I don't know. What are your views guys/dolls? Thanks.

My husband recently began thinking about getting circumcised. Oddly enough i've never been with a circumcised man and didn't really know how to respond when he told me he was thinking about having it done? Is it really any different at all? Has anyone been in a similar situation? Well any answers/advice would help really.

People divorce because they can't live with each other. Sometimes, at the expense of the stability of their children.I am curious how many of those who divorced can say they were right in making that choice, that they have never been as happy, after they left their spouse. What joy did you experience, or what other problems did you encounter as a result of divorcing? Was it a good decision. Was there a time in your life when you felt sorry you decided to divorce? Would you recommend this to anyone who may be in the same situation as yours? Given the chance to turn back the hands of time, would you have the humility to try andmake the marriage work, as long as there is no abuse and those hurtful emotional punishment?

I'll try to make this short! my fiancee and I moved to MA from CA about 2 months ago-he's originally from here, I'm from CA. He got a job opportunity with a start up (risk) but with great pay. I was out of work due to my company going bankrupt so a job wasn't keeping me there, just my love for CA and some family there.
We have no plans to get married anytime. The question is I am miserable here. We're both in the entertainment business and that's hardly booming here in MA. He says that it will only get worse for me as winter approaches and thinks that I should move back. I am torn, every 5 minutes I change my mind because I am torn between staying here with him or going to CA. I just can't seem to shake my bad attitude and feel that if I am back in CA, it doesn't have to mean the end of the relationship. we're both 40 and can handle it. But am I putting a location before my relationship and did he put a job before his relationship?? Don't know. What do you guys suggest? thank you!

and it has been close to a year sense it has been over. but i'm in texas she's in colorado. she filed for the divorce so i had to get a lawyer in colorado . yadda yadda. now that's it said and done
can i get a lawyer here in texas . i would like to take her back to court . i pay child support but she won't let me see or talk to the kids. or will i still have to get a lawyer in colorado?

I feel like the stupid one here, but he is the one that is cheating and lying. I don't know if it has ever stopped, but I do know that they have had some sort of relationship for a long time. We got married only 4 years ago but have a 7 year old son. I believe he is staying with me because of our child. What do i do? I'm trying to gather as much evidence as i can before i confront him with the proof. I have confronted him in the past and he has lied about the affair. I found out my wife had cheated on me in '98 and it was 2 days before my second child was born, i don't wanna believe my first child is from her infidelity, but it is possible. she had lied about it until i had proof and confessed what she did. and even up to 2 years later was still lying about it after her confession. i don't love her anymore and have told her this, but living w/o my kids will kill me, not to mention financial issues. i still live in the house but am miserable unless i am with my kids. i also had done something i never thought possible, i developed deep feelings for a woman i met online who lives in another state, and she is unhappily married. my wife had told her husband about this situation and it has not been good for her obviously. I don't think i can ever trust my wife again and not sure if i will ever love her again. i came from divorced parent's and hate the thought of being a "weekend Dad". either path i take i will lose it seems....

My husband has a 5 year old daughter with his ex girlfriend and even though he was supporting his child she still ordered child support just to spite him. Now me and him have a 9 month old son. My question is shouldn't he be able to go to court to get a reduction because his sitution has changed (Gotten married and has a child)? We live in the Maryland/Washington DC Area.

after knowing each other all through high school, we finally hooked up five years later. we live together, he's told me he loves me and even made little comments about "when we get married" even though he hasn't asked. then suddenly last night he said he's moving back to his moms and he thought we moved too fast and he thinks he needs to be single for a while. he packed his things but then totally "made out" with me and spent the night, he said he would see me tonight when i left for work this morning. Has anyone really found the grass to be greener on the other side?

The way that I see it is that it might be for alittle while. Then after a while it will get dry and start to turn brown again. If the grass in your yard starts to wilt and get dry you just have to water it and show it some love for that green look and feel again.

Do you agree? Have you found the grass greener elsewhere?

Is it really stressful to be a doctors wife? My boyfriend is starting his intern/residency at a hospital next year, and he is going into neurosurgery. He told me that I'm the one that he wants to marry. I want marry him as well. However, my mom told me that being a doctors wife is very stressful on the marriage, especially when he is a neurosurgeon. I want to know what im getting myself into once i marry him. Does anybody have any ideas?
