Marriage & Divorce - 13 June 2006

My wife and I have been separated for about a year. This is because I found her having an affair with someone out of state. I know she is no longer seeing this person, and we talk everyday 3-4 times, and see each other a couple of times a week. Yes, we have sex, but not too often. I need companionship in my life, I am sick of waking up alone. But she says she needs more time to see if she can be with me. When we spend time together, it is great, but awkward. Please advise.........

I bought a new swimsuit to wear on a vacation that me and some girlfriends are going on and I tried it on tonight. I wanted my husbands honest opinion and when he saw me.....he hesitated and said....."it looks ok.....swimsuits are ugly anyway". OK, now I feel like I look awful in it. He is soooo picky. I have gained 10 pounds from my thin swimsuit body a few years ago and he won't even tell me I look good in a swim suit because of 10 extra pounds. How can I stay motivated to loose the pounds?

I have told my husband that the realationship was over and we had a long talk, etc... however I didn't bluntly say "I want a divorce" or "please move out" but I made it very clear that the relationship was over and he even said that he understood, but he is not understanding.... either he thinks I am not serious or I will change my mind I am not sure.

I communicate better in writing, and my husband still wants to be married and I do not. My question is: Is it wrong to write him a detailed letter asking for the divorce, since he did not respond to our long heartwrenching talk?

I know it sounds awful. I knew he was married when I met him since we were working together. I am still working at the place that he owns and still sleeping with him. My grandma who is 78 yrs was seeing this 83 yr man. When the man found out my grandma was dying of cancer and only had a few weeks left, he asked her to marry him. My grandma married him just so he could get her social sercurity checks. She had a will leaving everything to her daughter except lifetime rights for the house to her spouse and then it is to go to her daughter. Now the spouse thinks everything that my grandma has or had is his. The will was prepared after my grandma was married leaving everything to her daughter. what rights does her daughter have. Both daughter and spouse are executors of the will and power of attorney.

me and my ex split up in march. i broke up with her because we were at the bar and she invited her ex over to talk. they have had some history. we were together for 2 years. the whole time we were together she wanted to marry me. i wasnt ready for that in my life. i was recently in california for army training. we were talking about getting back together and working on us. when i came back she said she would take me back and asked me to propose. i did. then 2 days late she said she needed time to heal. we still talk everyday, go out, and sleep together. i know i hurt her before and she hurt me. she still tells me she wants to work things out but shes moving. her b day is in a week. should i get the ring? i asked her what she would say and she wasnt sure. but it might be another test she is trying. i love her....what do i do??

How do you cope with a partner who has multiple affairs?Especially if you have been faithful the entire marriage and never strayed. It seems like more often than not the other parties involved (mistress/manstress whatever)-- always know that the person is married or married with kids, but they don't care and drop the pants anyway! How could any human being do this to another? Why don't they just be honest? It takes WORK to cheat yet,they will plan and plot to destroy your family behind your back together with YOUR spouse the one person you should be able to trust more than anyone else.When children are involved it's also more difficult and when you try to get past it and work on the marriage your spouse is always a constant reminder of what was done or cheats on you again just when you start to try and heal. How do you cope with such betrayal? Also why are people so willing to sleep with married people? Ok .. forget respecting a marriage for a second what happened to SELF- RESPECT?!

Would you ever consider dating or marrying someone that has been in prison? He stabbed someone when he was 15 because the girl he was seeing was hit by the guy and the girl was pregnant with his kid.
He pretty much grew up in prison and didn't have his mom or anyone around most of his life. He is a real good guy in so many ways but doesn't know how to live in the real world. Would you stay by his side and love him?
