I am going to assume you mean another relationship your spouse was having.
If your spouse was having an affair and he/she says that they have ended the relationship it is now down to trust (if there is any left) that they really have ended it.
You are going to feel less trusting towards them because they have had an affair and it is going to take a long time (if you want to continue) for you to be able to trust them again.
Good luck.

in my past experiences, i have always known that it was over when i or the other person stopped caring for the other on all levels. do they care when you are hurt or crying? do they care about anything that pertains to you at all? if the answer is no, then they have lost the will to fight for your relationship and given up hope. hopefully you can get to some marriage counseling before this happens.

He/she will be indifferent. Life will become a ritualistic encounter with no passion- just getting by. He/she will rarely call you unless they need to pass on vital information, however, he/she will be calling others. He/she will be confiding in others more than you and will barely remember your special days/events/interests.

a slight hint could be that he or she has moved u out of the house or they have moved out, not rang or doesnt answer if you ring them, or just told you straight....basically, if they were any decent partner, they would have told u the relationships over!
