a really good friend of mine, her dad is extremely strict and doesnt even let his daughter, my friend, out of the house other than shcool. her dad wdoesnt even let her talk to guys like us. but she still does. anyway, i have a feeling that her dad abuses her and i am not sure to what extent. i really am close to this friend and do not know what to do. and i dont think she wants to turn him in for abuse because she is afraid, what should i do?
i do not know if he actually hurts her, but she asks to stop talking about it when we bring it up around friends.
i am thinkin gof having a seruious talk with her tomoorrow, just the two of us.

I'm kind of shy but once you get to know me I am funny and charming. I just have trouble breaking the ice with people. I started two weeks ago and not one real friend. :(

If God made us all uniquely with each a unique personality, why do I have to change. People think im too quiet. I mean I know im not all that talkative but i talk. Whats the big deal, i kinda wanna change but then im thinking why do i have to change if God made me this way. What do you think?

Really big issues lately. She is always putting herself down, blaming her horrible childhood on herself (when it was because of her parents) She has no confidence and is always saying that everyone else is better than her. That she isnt skinny enough, not pretty enough, etc. It is really starting to bother me because i dont know what to tell her anymore. I try to get her to make herself more social and outgoing. But she clams up because she doesnt want people to not like her. So she doesnt say much at all...She often feels like she is bothering people when she calls them to see what they are doing. I am on vacation right now and dont know what to tell her anymore...please, if you have had past experiences with someone like this, ideas to help her would be amazing. If you want addtitional info, please post in an answer, as i will be happy to add more...

hi, ok my brain is going blank right now, and so i'm just gonna get to the point. ok, so i have this friend (lets call him Giovanni) and for like 2 years we've been buggin each other and whatnot, and even though we're friends, we still like annoying each other. So, it's gotten kind of annoying and we've decided to make like a document or i really don't know how to put it, i guess like a peace treaty so we could get it in writing, but i'm supposed to write it and i can't think of how to put it, and it's supposed to be like nearly a page long, or at least half a page and i need to know what to write. please help. fullest answer gets best answer.

ex) a girl was telling my friend and i who she likes and she said i dont have to worry about you telling anyone because you never talk! I hate that. I already know that, she doesnt have to remind me and make me feel bad! another girl, my friend..said "this is jenny, the quiet one" she was the very least person i would expect to hear that from! ugh!
I really, really would like to stop being so quiet and shy. i know its true, but i want to end this. i do not like it when people call me that. there's more to me that just being "quiet". I am more outgoing outside of school than during school. I also dont really talk unless someone asks me a question i feel i need to, etc. I dont talk to my friends a whole lot either. Its hard for me to show who i am at school, i dont know why though. I guess i just dont feel comfortable. what are some things i can do to stop being so quiet/shy? what type of things should i talk to people about? how can i join a conversation? etc.?

My son has this friend thats not his girlfriend yet!! but they hang out alot and im pretty sure they will become exclusive very soon,i cant stand her,shes used to come over half naked,(i fixed that problem)she is trouble,she loves to party,drink do some drugs and smoke(not only ciggaretts) mt son is 23 years old,not financially set to be out on his own yet,but he gets angry at me because every chance i get i will talk her down and when she does come over, she will say hi and bye,but i know shes a phony and what shes all about,shes been with every other one of his friends and cant undestand why hes falling for her,well the problem is i dont acnowledge her at all when she greets us as she comes and goes,and my son says thats disrespecting him,and he hates when i talk bad about her every chance i get,shes trashy and i dont feel she deserves any kind of attention at all,am i wrong?

does this happen to anyone else sometimes? sometimes you just meet a lot of people at a social event or something. thats lots of names and faces to remember. some people youll remember a name and a face, some youll remember a face but forget the name. say you meet lots of people that day and dont see them for a few days or something. then you see someone that says hi to you from the event and you know, its normal you might remember them from the face but forget the name. i get that, that happens sometimes. but is this weird: some people you dont remember you met them cuz you hadnt seen them around a lot and there were so many faces to remember that you dont know who they are or you might say like "oh arent you (throwing a name out there)?" is this weird? does this happen sometimes to you guys? i ask people about this and everyone's said theyre more likely to forget names than faces. this doesnt happen all the time, i know i dont have a disorder, it happens sometimes

I am currently living in a very depressing roommate situation, and not sure what to do. I am 30 years old and to save money I actually got an apartment with my "best" friend, a guy who has been my "best" friend since we were 18. Well, since we have been living together for 2 months, it has been bad. He is one of the most disrespectful and SELFISH people that I know. Each weekend he comes home drunk at like 4:00 a.m, bangs on my door to wake me up, then turns the stereo up real loud (so I can hear it loudly in my room). I get pissed, then the next day he "apologizes." Same fake apology each time.This past weekend was the worse. I was with a girl I am seeing, he came back drunk with a friend, did the same BS, but this time I got pissed off, told him to turn off the stereo and he told me that "he doesnt care what I think and that I can move out whenever I want." What should I do? Would a TRUE friend treat me like this? How depressing.

My friend's childhood friend apparently has some beef with me. She's been talking about me behind my back to mutual friends even though I've only met her twice and didn't really talk to her much. So when I heard that she was saying stuff (some pretty rude stuff as well) I sent her an email asking her what was up. I wasn't confrontational or rude, but I just wanted to ask her why it was that she had a problem with me.

She wouldn't respond to my email, but instead went to 2 of my friends and started telling them that this was some "high school bulls**t". I don't get it! Why would someone talk a bunch of trash and then when asked why they suddenly had nothing to say?

I'm not trying to pick a fight with her, I let her know that I just wanted to discuss the issue with her and hopefully get it resolved. Should I have just left it alone and let her continue saying stuff about me? Or was it ok to email her and ask what it was she had against me? What else can I do?

My best friend is dating a guy right now & Friday night his ex-girlfriend came over while she was there. My friend got pissed and left. I called her later on that night after fighting w/ my BF to see where she was & she was upset.
Since she was so upset and didn't know if her guy's ex was still there I took it upon myself to go over there and make sure nothing happened. (I was very drunk at this time BTW) I ended up drinking there and trying to talk to this girl. All I remember is attempting to kick her *** after she called my friend a **** and then trying to talk to her. People told me I took pictures w/ her and that I was "buddy buddy" w/ her??

Now I feel awful. I feel like I cheated on my best friend by being nice to her when all I wanted was to know why she was there in the first place. To see if there was still something going on.

What do I do to show my friend that I still have her back.

Here's the situation - a not-so-close friend is planning a surprise birthday party for his wife. He called my husband yesterday and told him to tell me to bring a certain dish (which takes a lot of effort to prepare). Apparently, he has been calling everyone I know and asking them to bring different things to the party.

My question is - is this an acceptable practice? To plan a surprise party for your spouse and then make it a potluck???

(I'm feeling a little ambivalent about this because my birthday passed just a few weeks ago, and I didn't even want to prepare food to throw myself a birthday party.)

Please give me your opinion.

this guy im sort of into, we talk all the time, but mostly online. we are really close and know everything about eachother, but there is this whole side of him which he refers to as this 'barrier'.

This stuff he feels he cant talk about. People outside school he will talk about it with, but he feels that he cant trust people in school for some reason.
I dont keep on at him about it, I know that won't help. All I can think to do is just keep being friends with him and being there for him.
He says that maybe eventually I'll take it down brick by brick, but I was wondering if I was going about it right and if theres anything else I can do?

I have a friend who I have known for a few years and have always been there for her through boyfriend break ups and difficulties with jobs. I have often been a shoulder to cry on and been there for the good and the bad. She recently got a new job and I went out with her to celebrate but I am feeling over the past year that the relationship is one sided. I have never had to rely on her so much for break ups because I am married but I have had a few thing happen in my life over the past year and she hasn't been there at all. We bought a new house and she didn't come over to see it or even congratualate me. She didn't come to house warming or anything .Also i have been studying really hard for exams and got a promotion in work again she didn't even congratulate me. Also she didn't get me a wedding present - when we married it was just the two of us in Italy but we told everyone before hand. I always celebrate her bday, she never celebrates mine. I used to live with 3 other people, 1 of them I got on really well with, we all then moved into our own places for about 7 months. Now me and this other housemate (male) having decided to move back intogether, we've found the house, and are moving in together in 2 days. The problem is that I think Im in love with him, I get nervous when I see him, and feel quite protective and jealous if he talks about other girls. What do you guys think I should do? Ok so im in class right, I show him my drawing he says "So why WHY are these stars here?" and I said because thats where I put them and he says "But why John? Why WHY?" and so I go redo it but class is over and when I get my stuff out of my locker, sunset is approaching when i leave class and when I start walking home I hear this "BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA" AND ITS THE ART TEACHER!!!!!

He chased me 10 miles to my house with a giant branch that is really sharp! I mean its like he wasnt looking at me to his eyes were wide open laughing THE WHOLE TEN MILES LAUGHING AND TRYING TO ATTACK ME!

He ran so fast I couldn't get my car when I got out of the building and when i got up to my apartment he was 2 feet away when I shut it his hand was in the door and he yelled "AAAARGGH" and he pulled it out, and he has been standing in front of my door with his eye in the peep hole for about 3 hours now, not moved an inch, I have no phone and I am so damn scared I blocked all my windows?
