Friends - September 2007

My friend came to me in a fit of panic, and fear. Her dad is an alcoholic and is pretty much crazy. He threatens to kick them out, and sometimes threatens to leave. He refuses to take his meds, and he comes home and screams at my friend and her mom. Her mom is too afraid to do anything, and she won't call the cops or leave, because without him, there's no money and my friend would get extrememly depressed if she couldn't go to school and see her friends. Without their house, their lives would be an even bigger mess than it is now. So she came to me and now I don't know what to do! I don't know what to say to her because it's never happened to me.

I personally am an overall emotionless person and for some reason I think everyone else should be too, so I say and do many things that hurt others. I know it does, but i can't seem to help it. I've tried to stop, but it just comes by instinct. What should I do?

Im from Brazil. I met this really cute guy in a party and he’s going to the same school where I go. I didn’t talk to him and he didn’t talk to me. But by the end of the party, he said bye. Ive got no idea what to say on the first day of school if I see him. Should I say hi? He’s new to the country and im planning to introduce him to people if I see him. My friend has a so called "boyfriend" on imvu. I guess they talk online all the time and she called him like once. Is that really a boyfriend? She denies that she is going out with anyone but she told me. He lives in a different state and they have no plans on meeting. She is only 15. Is that really a boyfriend.......or what is it??????

How do you know when a girl is having problems. Well is cause we in a group for some anatomy class and she just dont seem to care about the work. We tried kicking her out of the group, but the professor said we have to break the ice. So any suggestions to how I can address this? How can I tell if she having problems?

Okay, for the past few days I've been a jackass. Here's my story. I send messages to one of my friends on myspace calling him a loser for not helping me out with a plan. My plan was to get back at a friend of mine who called me his best friend but I thought I wasn't. My plan: to alter messages he sent me on myspace and send them to his girlfriend and make it look like he was saying bad things about her. Then after that, I planned on throwing rocks at him and stealing his crutches because he broke his foot. Then I just started lashing out towards my other friends. I told my teachers that one of my friends was cheating and not siting sorces when he was doing research and I nearly got him kicked out of college, I got two of my female friends into a cat fight after telling one another one was saying stuff behind their back, I have sexually harassed girls, I called most of my friends dick heads, gay, and losers, I even physically assaulted some of my friends. What is wrong with me?

I like this guy, and so does my best friend.
Someone found out and told me that I don't have a chance with him, but my best friend would.
I feel bad about this because it's true, but they don't even know me well enough to say that I wouldn't anyway, why are they so judgemental? (LOL I know I can't spell! Sorry)

I'm new to this school right, and its been over a week and I can't make any new friends. I went to a differnt middle school last year because my mom was the princable but this year she got moved to a new elementary school so I couldn't go there. Only one of my friends is in my class and we are really good friends and all but she went there last year so I guess I feel really left out because she has all these other friends and she keeps talking to them and laughing about all this cool stuff that happened last year. She has about 4 really good friends and I feel jealous. I mean I've tried being nice to them, but they think, oh I don't know. But i dont think they like me very much.

ok so i have a friend and she brags but tries to be modest at the same time. like at first she would say "gosh im so bad at math" and we would say no you arent ______ you are smart. and she says "yah i guess im smarter than most people" and she chews with her mouth open. she just gets on my nerves bcuz she is such a showoff but tries to be modest just so we wont say "goshh_______ is a show off" what should i do when she does that?i think she just wants us to compliment her like "no your not bad at math" i just want to say " yeah your bad at math"

I've always tried to avoid having to call them anything, whether it's by their first names or if it's Mr. ____ or Mrs. ____. Whenever my mom meets my friends she introduces herself as Mindy and not as "her mom". But I've always felt weird calling my friends' parents by their first names. I feel like it's kind of disrespectful. (I mean, you're not supposed to call your teachers by their first names.)

My friends usually sit outsides during lunch cos its late winter and its way too cold to be sitting inside. We usually sit in a circle so some people are directly facing the sun and some people are not. Yesterday i was sitting with the sun to my back, then my this friend of mine asked me to move so she could sit where i was sitting. And me being, well me, said no. There was a space somewhere elso so i told her to sit there, t hen she says that she cant sit in the sun because if she does then her skin will get dark and no one would want to marry her! And i was like WFT?!? I told her that was the most ridiculous thing i'd ever heard and that she was pathetic. (nicely) She told me that her older sister (23) wasnt married because no one wanted her because her skin was dark from sun exposure. Is she alright up there, or is it just me.
