I'm kind of shy but once you get to know me I am funny and charming. I just have trouble breaking the ice with people. I started two weeks ago and not one real friend. :(
Any tips on how to break the ice and talk to people?

THANKS

Be sure your breath is fresh and for God's sake SHOWER regularly. Wear deoderant and were clean clothes. After gym, shower. Wear body spritz, wash your hair, ect. You'd be surprised at how basic hygine makes ALL the difference.

Also try not to be a know-it-all. Be original and somewhat weird in a GOOD way. Mystify people with your talents but don't show off. Be a "bit" mysterious letting people know they never know what you'll come up with next. Don't become the kid who cuts himself, has MAJOR dandruf, B-O, or wears the same dirty jeans every day.

Sad thing is, if you're in high school you ARE in an inferno of bitches, bastards and stuck up little gits who will do anything to tear you down. They get their kicks off of making people feel like **** and will gladly really hurt someone if they could get away with it. When they do get what they deserve, they lash out at the innocent. Sad world.

If you do become popular, don't let it get to your head. Be kind to people, don't push others down, don't be a drama-head and don't be jealous and a hater, cuz you'll aquire MANY enemies I can assure you.

I wasn't a nerd, but I wasn't terribly rich-girl popular either. I was the original unique artsy type who wore funky cool fashions people would mimick, brought strange lunches to school and was really involved in the marching band, art class/club and chorus. I had regular sleepovers, hung out at the mall, routinley hung out with everybody from Goth to Hard-core rap fans. People knew my name, people asked me for help and people were nice. I had friends, but I knew who my TRUE friends were. High school isn't AS tough as you think. High school is not a popularity contest. It isn't a fashion runway. It's true reason is for you to get your education and head off to college-the realworld- the world that will make you. Truth be told... those lil' kids ain't makin' you. Ten years from now, you can own your own corperate business and they'd be waitressing at the Waffel House.

You said you were shy, so people may think you a quiet and withdrawn. Some people are even scared of that trait.

P.S Marching band is the WAY.TO.GO!!!!!!

Winning a fight is also good, but I'm not suggesting you get suspended....

In college, it's SO different.

I am the same way, I suggest being brave and going to talk to a group of girls that seem nice and kind. Just be yourself and usually they will adopt you into their circle.

Smile a lot and show yourself friendly. Compliment when you see things you like. For example: "Hey your outfit is really cute. Where did you buy it?
